I totally get what Conner is saying about DLC vs remake. DLC isn't a game all on its own - it's adding on to an existing game. A remake, while an experience you've already had/seen before, is a *GAME* , if that makes sense. You can play a remake without playing the original, but you can't play a DLC without the base game, 99% of the time, the base game is *required* to play a DLC.

I personally do not count DLC or Remakes for game of the year cause ones not a game it’s dlc and ones not from that year Reimagining’s like Ratdhet and Clank 2016 and FF7 rebirth I count as there own game though

Bring real, Erdtree is hands down the best gaming content to release this year.

I don’t know how Nick thought that shadow of the Edtree will even get nominated for game of the year to begin with, the GOTY award is eligible only for new game releases for this current year. DLCs can be nominated for best ongoing game and maybe some other categories like cyberpunk 2077 had last year, and phantom liberty didn’t get nominated because it’s a DLC and not because of “not enough votes” As for the DLC vs Remake nomination discussion, this is a very mixed talking topic that’s it’s not even worth it, you will always get the opposite reaction whatever side you choose.

Another Crabs Treasure getting under an 80 is kinda sad, game looks good, ost is good and it’s just rly fun, only real bad problem is it had a lot of bugs and glitches

It’s won’t even be nominated, I don’t know how he thinks a dlc will win to begin with, GOTY it’s only for new game releases for this current year, Elden Ring dlc could be nominated for best ongoing game category.

I don’t know if shadow of the erdtree will get nominated because it’s experiencing a lot of hate do to the difficulty but I personally think that’s stupid so hopefully not

That is dumb I’m not going to play it cause I have Elden Ring a 7/10 and reason why I am personally not a fan of the combat but difficulty shouldn’t disqualify a game ever.

We can't exclude Erdtree just because you think it's “not interesting"

An expansion of this scale is entirely different than something like a horse armor cosmetic microtransaction. Not hearing all the circular talking about something so pedantic

It absolutely shouldn’t be nominated. Would set a horrible precedent going forward.

For me I play almost every triple a game that comes out these days. I played Elden Ring in 2022 I did everything in it took me the whole year. I give Elden Ring a 7/10 (if I give a game a 7/10 or lower any DLC that comes out I don’t play) so I’m not going to play Elden Ring DLC. Reason why I give Elden Ring a 7/10 is this atmosphere is brilliant, lore is so cool and music is stunning. But I don’t love the combat it annoys me and makes the game not fun for me. I have only played Demon Souls Remake and Elden Ring when it comes to FS games.
