Listening to the gentlemen in the beginning is one of the holding points for me on reformed theology. Everyone gets their panties in a bunch about how we sing unto the Lord. Two things come to mind. Read how King David worships the Lord when the Ark is brought into the city. The Bible says he danced so joyfully, his clothes were quite disheveled. Doesn’t seem to have put the Lord in a snit because he wasn’t being reverent; just praising God with all within him! The second thing, worship isn’t just about singing. Worship needs to encompass who we are in Christ. Obedience, honor, trust, truthfulness, all that we say, do and think we are to do as unto the Lord. That is true worship. Forgive my forthrightness, but not those chorales playing in the background. If that’s your way of singing to God, terrific. It’s just not everyone’s. Despite your adamant stance to the opposite, we’re told to make a joyful noise into the Lord. That’s what I think He wants. He may like your way for napping.
