For the last time hornets do NOT need Reed Sheppard lol he is undersized and is essentially what we already had in terry rozier we’ve tried that experiment already and it failed plus hornets have enough guards as it is melo tre mann vasa micic nick smith jr cody martin bryce mcgowens amari bailey reed would get no run here and if he does crack the lineup he’ll probably be off the bench we need starters in the top 5 the pick should be castle richasser or buzelis if they don’t get sarr hell Cody Williams would’ve been a better pick
@Sros18 ай бұрын
That’s fair, but Sheppard is bigger on the defensive end than Rozier
@collinpitts73268 ай бұрын
Martin is a wing, and reed is a completely different player than rozier and a better shooter, he is literally better than every guard you listed that we have aside from melo. Like all of those guys don’t have the upside reed has and none of them have his shooting ability. You don’t not pick a player because of bench players who don’t have high upside. Now if you don’t think shepherd has the talent in general that’s a different discussion, but saying he doesn’t fit because we have a lot of sub-par guards doesn’t make sense
@JAYN0CAPP8 ай бұрын
@@collinpitts7326 Martin can play 2 or 3 I just counted him because he’s projected to be the starting 2 next year if we don’t get anyone to take his place and reed is a good player just not a good fit for charlotte sure Reed may be a better shooter and defender than rozier but at the end of the day he’s 6’3 and will get cooked in the nba on defense not many guards that height other than maybe pat bev are lockdown defenders which is what we need next to lamelo and miller castle is the best fit because he’s 6’6 can defend the perimeter multiple positions and while his shot isn’t there yet the form is good and he has solid ft numbers he also has good driving ability has flashed some self creation and he’s a good facilitator that can play 1 or 2 which is essential due to lamelos health sarr and buzelis are good picks as well can play pf while miles bridges and b mill move down to the 3 and 2 respectively I just worry about reeds ability to defend at the next level ik he can shoot tho
@JAYN0CAPP8 ай бұрын
@@Sros1 yeah I guess but how much better tho and 6’3 is pretty short for starting guard in todays NBA especially when the league is getting taller those shorter guards like kyrie and curry are kinda of getting fazed out unless your just hella athletic like ja but idk reed in the top 5 is too rich for me
@dillamadukes218 ай бұрын
@@JAYN0CAPP For a league that's getting shorter, they're sure are a lot of 6'4 and under guys at all star weekend. I understand that height and wingspan are important measurables you have to take into account when constructing a roster, but the most important attribute you can have on a basketball court is SKILL. 30% of MVP awards in the last 20 years were won by guys 6'3 and under. A 6'2 guard with a bad ankle changed the NBA and how basketball is played. Castle and your other preferred prospects may have more value on defence, but they'd slow down an offence that wants to score in transition and put up lots of points. A guard like Sheppard that can play serviceable defence, who doesn't need the ball in his hands to be valuable, shoots as well as he does and spaces the floor for more high volume players would be a perfect fit for Lamelo and the Hornets.

He plays little, if any, defense. The Spurs need a point guard who is a good passer. Dillingham would be a bad selection for the Spurs! Zaccharie Risacher is the shooter that could help San Antonio. This is the first mock draft that I’ve seen where the blazers get a player who might actually fit the teams needs but imo they need another big and I’d have them take zaccharie risacher or matas buzelis and then a wing with the GSW pick. Ayton is solid but the blazers need another big who plays with energy and actually has skill because the g league bums and 10 day contracts aren’t cutting it. Any team that takes clingan is taking a huge risk, he has missed plenty of collage ball because of issues with his feet and legs, it doesn’t matter how talented a guy is if they don’t actually play consistently, the dude has skill but he is a major risk and I believe he will have plenty of issues with plantar fasciitis and knee issues that will lead to him missing a good portion of the seasons

@@dbhuv2225 The team's multi-decade progressive heritage as pioneers in international scouting and building around non American players has created a bias in fans towards drafting oversees talent. The success the team has had with foreign players as well as the emergence of genuine European superstar players has only intensified these sentiments. Also doesn't help that the franchises last American born superstar blew up the team for a half decade. So much of the conversations that happen in Spurs fan circles around Topic are rooted in emotional, wishful thinking. He's the rorschach test of the draft. I've even seen asinine comparisons of Topic to Luca (the difference in their play styles is only dwarfed by the gulf between them in talent). I agree that one of the Kentucky guards (I have a preference for Rob; stronger ball handler and better scorer off the dribble) would be the better bet in this weaker draft where fit is more important than just picking the best player available. As far as wings, I'd rather see what's available on the free agent market this off season or wait till next years much deeper draft.
