People use their turn indicator when entering the highway, leaving a secondary road for a higher "priority" one, where the speed limit is higher.

@@AllTimeAutoReviews Hi. It means gratitude in this case, for a driver behind let the author merge into his lane. By the way, there are no rules which prohibit to turn on hazard lights to indicate something while driving in my country. I don't know how and when such etiquet appeared, but it is a common practice in Kazakhstan as well. I hope it makes sense=)
