As a Norwegian I'm soooooooooooo humbled and honored that you predict brandsegg Nygard to be picked top 10 no matter what happens he will make Norwegian hockey history and I'm soooooooooooo excited for the 2024 draft a Norwegian to be potentially picked in top 10 or 20 maybe worst case it will be Huge for the Nowegian youth hockey program:).

I love what you're doing with the channel, bringing in Hadi to share some of his insights that bring new light to some of these developping players was so interesting. That's Datsyuk coming out of the bench to deke out Hockey KZbin. I was at first surprised he wouldn't put Eiserman higher but when he explained it, made so much sense. A scout HAS to think overall if a kid that is tearing it up now has the tools & behaviours to be able to keep producing at a much higher level against faster, tougher, smarter experienced players who've almost seen it all already. And that's also why, me thinks, Konsta Helenius might climb higher even come draft day if he keeps producing the way he does as he's the only one there who's doing it against pros on a Liiga that's on an upward trend (not as much as the SHL and the NL it seems, but definitely not far behind)

Its safe to say Mtl needs elite offense out front. Its currently lacking. They'll go for the best forward available, and it could be another top 5 pick this year. Enough with dmen already lol

@@maxpatenaude2115 you think we need Offence because our offence isn’t fully developed yet lmao, Sure if Montreal has the 5th overall pick for example they will look to take a forward but it’s not something we DESPERATELY need we have lots of talent it’s just not developed yet or some of the players like Caufield and Suzuki are not in their full prime yet Suzuki is 24 but he still has more to give I see him as a consistent 70-77 point player and Caufield in my opinion could be a 90 point player if he can score and continue to make plays like he has this season in the future, I haven’t even talked about Roy, Slaf, Dach, So we have talent it’s just not developed yet. I’m hoping Montreal drafts Cayden Lindstrom I have been watching this player very closely and he looks like a PERFECT fit for Montreal he’s big has a WICKED One Tee, VERY good passing abilities and skates very well, Above all else we need Size up front but not Just “Size” we need High Potential size Slaf is one of them but Cayden Lindstrom could be another and he could be a 80-90 point player in the NHL I think he has LOADS of potential and we could take our time with him develop him properly.

Looking like the Habs will be able to maybe have the choice between 3 good centers (if we remove Celery (zero chance), and Demidov (might be possible if, like some think, he goes #4 or even#5. Imho he'll go #3. Either ways they're both not an option for this discussion) They are, by order of most current ranking : Helenius Catton and Lindstrom (IMHO, 10 for the latter is too high, more like 6-8 spot, but what do I know. To me it would be between Helenius and Lindstrom; the first because of being the most complete C of all 3 ATM, and Lindstrom because he's a giant compared to both (6'4-5 vs 5'11 for both Hel and Catton). Catton is more of a winger imho. So outside of "Celery" and Demidov (the latter who might not go second or even 3rd, because of the D available), Who amongst those 3 would you pick? Since the Habs will keep falling down for the rest of the season, AND we have quite a lot to offer before the TDL, I wouldn't be surprised if they trade down and get instead 2 picks outside the top 5, so picking 2 of those 3 might actually happen. Some team will want their D, trade swaps will be more likely than ever within the top 10 imho. BTW, it wouldn't be the best idea according to this particular (and most current rankings), but I'd pick LINDSTROM over Helenius, and either before Catton. Catton and Lindstrom play in the same league and have a similar production (Cat with more assists and Lind with more goals). Both are at around 50 points in the WHL (I think?), both having played around 30 games. Why, because we need a bit of size in the middle, but still have huge upsides when it comes to offense and play in general. He can play on the wings as well, so like Dach and what's his name (injured Colorado player we traded picks for; started slow but showed how good he was before being inevitable injured, as is tradition). We don't have a Lindstrom in our prospect pool; the closest isn't a prospect, and was red hot before immediately getting injured (again, tradition). We still have half of the season for prospects to either gain or lose ground, and interviews are really important too. Each team in the basement, especially ones that is a few seasons into their rebuilding process, have specific needs. IMHO if as is expected and they miss out on both Celery and Demidov, Lindstrom would be the next best choice. Hopeful Popcorn will pan out as a top D in the NHL too... Because if not we're missing on top Ds next draft, but I feel the 2024 draft will be insanely good for Habs, so let's try to stack up with high end picks or equivalent rookies before the TDL. If Shawn Monahan can keep himself from being injured, since he has basically not cap hit and on a single year contract, he'd be excellent as a third line center for any playoff team (as good on the wing too). If feel teams are waiting to make sure he won't get injured, but aside that, he's going to fetch big for us... No other center of his caliber is paid minimum wage with no future contractual strings attached. He's playing on an awful team with a lot of different partners, and still has the production and veteran qualities of a 6M third line center. We NEED to trade some D's too, AND one goalie pleavese (the market is there, but they all known we're desperate to make room for our younger and/or actual core players). It's the reason we play with the VERY unusual rotation of 3 goalies, AND the reason our current D is far from optimal : they need to play those non future core players in order to be able to trade them, simple as that. I'm satisfied with our prospect pool of goalies, and pleasantly surprised by Monty but EVEN Primeau, a goalie that I had written off a long time ago. Turns out better results can be achieved with a strategy that doesn't start and end with "throw him naked to the wolves" lol :P I know we want to trade 1 or even 2 of them, but never again can we let our pool of goalie be so dry that the health of a single player means the end of seasons and great PO stints.

I really think some teams may pass cause like the Hawks they need size prospects on the front end. Unless they get Celebrini I think it's wide open who they go for. It's not like 2023 . More like 2022 . But as we see some size don't work out like Kappo and Laufranier. There will be stars. I'm not sure they will be picked in the top 4 after Celebrini. With 2 D men probably going. Always a bit of a crapshoot ot wait. My team the Hawks have a bit to many small forwards on the prospect file. Lots of Big D men who are still learning there craft. Carlson has exceeded my expectations. Lol those Swedish guys.
