As a Capitals fan, I'm hoping that we take a defenseman like Jiricek, but I think Connelly is one of the forwards that we might draft. I'm worried about Connelly's defensive ability, he seems like he might be a liability there. It seems like his offense might be good enough to make up for that. I don't know if I should be happy or not if the Capitals draft him.

I think he'll go top 10 because I believe GMs and scouts are starting to realize that taller players take longer to adjust to their size. If the skill & cerebral qualities are there, everything that requires strength will improve, but may take an extra year. Player examples that took an extra year or so to develop due to size: - Quinton Byfield (6'5") - Tage Thompson (6'6") - Michael Rasmussen (6'6")

I’d love it if SJ selected him with the 14th pick. Or, if he was available at #33. He plays with an edge you just can’t teach.

Nah, I don't see him in SJ. If Stain goes in the 1st it might be to StL at #16, NYi at #20, or later in the 1st to Color, LAk, Tor, Nas, or Dal, NYr, Ana, or Phi (the last 4 pick). Stian might even go in the 2nd to Chi, Wpg, NYi, Ott, Phi, StL. I don't see Stian going to SJ, Pit, Uta, Buf, CLb, Det in the 1st or 2nd, he doesn't quite fit their rebuild timelines, would be a waste. Stian needs a team where he can walk into it in a couple yrs & the team around him is decent not crap.

Jiricek is better defensively and a safer pick, but I like what Solberg brings to the table. Potential for a nice return if he fixes some components of his game.

If the islanders want to be bold, draft this kid at #20 and run. Lamoriello would be a great man if they get a Norwegian to be a replacement for Adam Pelech. Honestly he also looks incredibly dynamic as a puck mover, so this easily can be a slam dunk pick in the future.

I like him. He has that mentality and willingness to lay the lumber on guys that you can't teach along with some solid skills. So many times you see those talented defensemen who want to play a finesse game.

Been a more than few defenseman compared to Moritz Seider. Stian so far he seems to be the next candidate. I think Stian has better leg drive, quicker burst with his shorter strides. He also has great anticipation to know when to go forward and challenge puck carriers one on one. A limitation is his d partner with Vålerenga may not exactly be able to anticipate what Stian was planning out on the ice Would SY take a chance? maybe......doubt Stian gets past pick 24.
