I have personally ran into this exact issue on a windshield replacement on my prior 2017 Chev Cruze Hatch Premier RS bought new. The dealership had to replace the windshield 2 times after the initial replacement before I got glass that was clear. I did not have a HUD, however it did have the distance alert system (camera behind the rearview mirror). It was believed to be a manufacturing issue with the sourcing of the windshield glass replacements with ____-lite repair, replace... The factory windshields had a laminating issue between the glass layers, so I decided to do a warranty claim, frustrating mistake in hindsight. The common indicator was bubbles that would form on the painted (black) portion of the glass.

Ford in the uk had this issue with the windshield too. I had 3 changed in 2 months and they couldn’t fix it. They just put it down to it having heated elements in the glass.

Thanks for the fun and informative review, Jake and Yuri. Have put 10,000 comfy miles on my 2023 SL. My petite wife would hate the Rock Creek as it has no adjustable height passenger seat. We love the safety features and it sure is a great vehicle to take our friends on golf outings with. Also, we got 29 mpg on trips, but we don't "get into the kitchen" as often as you fellas do!

I believe the doubling in the windshield is due to the windshield having to be more reflective for lighting for the heads up display. I noticed this in my Camaro and Pathfinder as well.

I've owned the previous gen Pathfinder and its been the perfect family vehicle. Good gas mileage, fits 7, and very comfortable on long roadtrips. No mechanical or other issues with the exception of reg maintenance (oil/fuel changes, tire rotations, brake replacements). Family and friends comment on how comfortable it is on 3+ hour trips.

I was in the market 5 months ago for a 3 row mid-size SUV and reviewing the entire market offering, I went with the Kia Telluride SX-Prestige. Feature wise it just offered more than the rest of the SUVs and comparing it to this Pathfinder, it offers a lot more: Full lumbar support and auto massaging driver seat, modern dual 12.3" infotainment/gauge, ventilated/heated seats for second row, full display mirror, blind spot view cameras (When I put on blinkers, it turns on a camera), and a digital key (I use my phone as the key and it comes with the credit card shape/size key like Tesla).

had a similar journey, ended up with the sorrento just because it was less "trucky" in terms of driving. but we were just blown away by the amount of features kia offered. the materials may not be true luxury but the seats are nice, the fit and finish is nice, so far we;'ve had no issues. 10k+ roadtrip and never had a single issue.

My dog has his own car..... 15 VW SportWagen TDI, because I have a 235lb English Mastiff. Atlas (our Mastiff) and other passengers is an absolute no go. Dog shifting weight, loosing balance ect could hurt someone, break bones, especially with younger, smaller, more fragile people.

I've got this cars nicer dressed up twin, a '23 QX60. Does all normal car stuff excellently. A few minor quirks that the infotainment doesn't go full widescreen despite a larger screen (its just a ported version of Nissans) and the heated steering wheel doesnt come on automatically with cold weather remote start. Now that you mentioned it though, I have the same windshield issue, but maybe not as pronounced. Also have the HUD.

Happy Squirt Day! That double headlamps coming at you I got in my old Citroen C3 on steroids, and it got no heads up display, just a very odd shaped windscreen. It is actually so bad, that I first believed all cars coming at me at night time were trucks or vans, because they all looks like having those extra pair of lights, that trucks have above the cabin. My goodness, Citroen is a rubbish car, by the way: I am not exactly used to luxury, but I am at least used to be able to change a lightbulb, when it blows. It took me 1½ hour to change the lightbulb, in frost here in Denmark, and then it lasted for 30 seconds, before it just blew a fuse instead. Don't buy old French cars, unlike you know a mechanic or are one!

As someone who owns a 22’ pathfinder, these head units suck with Apple CarPlay. Wireless CarPlay will always freeze up randomly. Just a heads up. It’s not just the pathfinder, it’s all Nissans with this screen set up. The titan (our loaner) was the same.

Pretty good amount of stuff for $50k. I just recently ordered an 24 A4 Allroad Prestige & the main reason I ordered it over the A6 was it still has some old school buttons & stuff for the climate. In the A6 it's just 2 seperate screens in the front & one in the back. It was $60k for the one I ordered tho but it has better build quality & better power & it's a wagon. Really wish manufactures would just switch back to buttons for climate.

@dm285 price wasn't an issue for me, I actually spent about 6 months cross shopping wagons, hatches, & some select SUVs & everything that I was interested in fell within the $60k-$70k mark. I went between the Audi's I listed above, Mk8 Golf R, Kia Stinger GT2 AWD, Acura RDX A-Spec Advance, Merc AMG GL45, & Genny GV70 Sport. Reason I went with the A4 Allroad I listed above, it checked off all the marks I wanted in the car, still had physical climate controls etc. At the end of the lease I am planning on getting into an RS6 Avant but this will be in 2027 & by then I'm guessing all cars will be full touch so I'll just have to deal with it lol.

I have a '22 SL Premium (wanted rear bench), I can't wait to trade it in (gotta love current interest rates). Cons -Remote start barely works (fob+app) -Keyless entry barely works (for locking, I've had to use the app to lock/unlock it more than once, even the key fob wouldn't work). -The hood dips towards the windshield and I had the sun reflecting directly into my eyes for the entirety of a 2hr road trip (migraine ensued). -It takes forever to get warm. Not ideal with a baby in the back seat that likes to throw his blanket off. 10 min remote start cycle x2 isn't enough to defrost the windshield let alone warm the cab. (I miss my Ford, they know HVAC) -The start stop is the worst I've ever experienced, usually I don't really notice it but its very jarring in the Pathfinder. -Not great being a front passenger, no up/down adjustment to the seat. -The wireless charger is a joke, incredibly slow speed. Would be better to get a USB pad and put it on top of the one it comes with. -My wife keeps her keys in the diaper bag. If she is in the car with me the drivers seat will try to go to her driving position when the car is shut off after driving. (she's 5', I'm 5'10). Have to hit the memory button to get it to stop. -Fuel economy isn't great. Averaging over 13L/100km mostly city though. -Infotainment is slow. -1st year new model problems: lots of creaks and rattles. Pros -Interior space is excellent, we did a 10hr road trip with 3 adults and 3 kids(7, 2, 1) and had enough room for everyone +gear. -Comfort for me is good, but my wife is 5' tall and can't get comfortable driving it. She says the seat doesn't get high enough for her comfort. -Towing my 3000lb boat is a breeze. -Shifter is fine. -360 camera is great, resolution is good. -Passenger seat room with a rear facing car seat is good. -Powertrain is good, no issues. -Bose sound system is excellent. TLDR; There are better options for your money. I picked this for the 6000lb towing and factory installed hitch + wiring.

Nice review and nice comparison. Even though I do not have a dog, I quite like the dog stuff, may be a replacement of the box test (RIP box test). Yep a child seat in every car, maybe 2 and a dog. I still don't understand why do people get SUVs when they just want a family car like a minivan at best. This behemoth of a fridge will cost a lot to run. 12l/100km is a lot and those tires will cost so much to replace (my 7 seater minivan gets 9 in the city -25% less). No towing, no 4wd in USA (optional), 1 child.... you just do not need that, get a 340i wagon and feel the fun under your hands.
