Its a newer gen zf 9 speed and also its a good transmission. The reason why the Jeep’s 9 speed fails is because of the crappy transmission software. Honda also has a similar issue with the Pilot and Ridgeline.

The ZF 9 speed is way better of a transmission. And it isn’t just Stellantis, Jaguar/Land Rover uses the trans and Honda used to offer it. At 50k for the top trim level, you start to run up against some serious competition from Germany which many buyers will turn to instead simply for the badge. The 35-40k trim levels will likely be their best sellers, possibly luring some customer away from the aging Honda Pilot.

I just had this exact model/color Pathfinder for a two week rental. I was very impressed by the quality of it although I wasn't as impressed as these guys were with the takeoff. I thought the acceleration was kind of sluggish and it lumbered down the road rather than taking off quickly. It's very reminiscent of my previous 2008 Mercedes ML350. That said, this is basically a luxury vehicle and I kept wondering what could Nissan possible offer in their Infiiniti line that was so much better than the Pathfinder. I currently own a BMW x3 and the only thing the Pathfinder couldn't match was the quickness and speed. Also, a slight downer was that, although it was only a 2022, there was a slight sign that the leather isn't going to be the most durable over the years as the driver's seat seemed to already be losing some of its suppleness. Overall, a great vehicle even if it is a bit pricey.

As a professional driver the first thing that I notice in the safety of this New Nissan Pathfinder is the the Break Lines been so close that actually rube each others and for an Off Road Vehicle this is a huge not for me, even if I was not to drive it off road. The Brakes are your Life and the Life of others and I could not drive one of this because I will always be thinking when they are going to pop and I will have not Brakes. Also this new Electronic Brake Distribution not sure how it will perform because this vehicle has the weight in the front and how the wear and tear of brakes pads will be when having different loadings at different times, only time will tell if is Safe or Not Second on my list is the Heat Control, 3 is the Big screen or monitor wherever is call because is a huge distraction when reversing actually blinds you. As a driver you must have a good depth perception and 4 point view contact that you must check almost every 3 to 4 seconds because the surroundings can change very fast to avoid accidents or vehicle damage, Cameras and all this features that manufactures are putting in vehicles are not safe but luxury and distraction, Your 4 Contact Points are your Left Mirror, Front Side,Rear Side Mirror and your Back up Mirror. Practice this 4 point Contacts All the Time you drive a vehicle and when driving always check the Points so you will know what is on your Left, on you Front, on your Right and what is behind you, Keep your distance and never Tail Gate not One and you will be driving very very Safe.

I need something like a Highlander. I carry wherlchairs and need the lower access for the elderly I carry. AND I travel very steep graveled roads and need to pull a small trailer. (Swiss Army Knife vehicle, lol). Having the new automatic, V6, and 6K towiing and some offroad protection. It's on my menu selection now.

The white text on top of a light / grey background isn't good. Clarity is much better with a black outline around the numbers just like the 0 and 1 on the tachometer. For some reason, they didn't do that with the rest of the numbers or the speedometer...

Why leave Explorer, Grand Cherokee, and Acadia out of the comparisons?
@sleeksilver3 жыл бұрын
Because they are literal trash aside from the new GCL. Watch his review for the new Explorer and no one likes the Acadia.

@@sleeksilver Of this entire class of vehicles, the only 2 I'd own are the GC and Explorer, and I still think the ancient Acadia beats all the Japanese competition except the Highlander. I work a rental car lot part time, I drive all of these cars regularly; not for very long, but very frequenlty.

I would have owned the previous generation if it didn't have the $$$ trainwreck of the Jatco CVT....it's back on my radar now

If you got a 2016 or newer Pathfinder/QX they were just fine. They switched over to the updated CVT8 which was so so so much better.

Another Great review guys... thanks to you I leased the Maxima Plat. 2018.... just switched it to a Rogue Plat 2021....I was thinking of the new Pathfinder... my wife owns a 2013 SV (soccer mom model)... but I'll keep it for 5 more years ;) not worth the upgrade.

No more cvt? I thought they said it’s fixed and everything is good.

They will never admit it. But them dumping the CVT was a huge admission that it was a failure. they won't change it for the entry level cars like Versa and Sentra because it would be too obvious that their in-house cvt was complete dogshit
