My first time at Washougal. One of the best tracks in the PNW, but very tough!

Thanks for the great video! I was just to the right of you in the first couple turns on the Suzuki. That was such a challenging course! I got hung up on one of the big nasty root balls in the single track and just about puked from exhaustion by the time I got past it lol!

Good riding! Thanks for posting, the track looked awesome. Got a flat right at that 7 min mark on the first lap, was bummed I had to pull off, was running right behind my friend in the top 5 after good starts in Vet C. Been riding Tahuya a long time and it has a lot of really solid single track that can get pretty tight. Willing to meet up there and ride sometime!

Good stuff. Similar thing happened to me in the vet c class, I got stuck in a jam in turn two that put me to just about the back of the pack and then hit bottleneck on the hill after hp hill. After that I was just towards the back with the fast guys of your class passing me up. Tough race but fun

Glad you healed up and made it. The rest are all west of the mountains so you will feel more at home.

wow the gopro really flattens the course.. that rocky down hill was actually scary. I raced long course, such a sick course

I don't know how you guys do long course. I can't imagine doing double the short course and staying alive. LOL. :) That's some serious stamina!

You ever ride capital forest. I like it so much better than Tahuya. Capital does suck in the rain though.

31.00 It is best to not move out of a guys way who is trying to pass. Just hold your line (you went off the trail there though), and let him work around you. Believe me, a guy who is good in the woods, can pass in the tightest of tree lined single track. If you move over, you have about a 50% chance of hitting him as he passes on what he thought was an open line. Don't feel bad if you make contact. They won't. :) Usually not on purpose to take somebody down, and part of passing if you have to bump. It will work on you right now. :) Good thing I got that advise before my first MX race in 84 in Midland Michigan (Polka Dots MC), because I darn near got the hole-shot, and got passed a lot. :) Go for the best start that you can, and you can stay out of a lot of mid-pack messes. I know im completly late to this video. I race the Endurance style races up here a lot. The track is never the same at all. I know you commented many times about not knowing it. No one does. They change it every year.
