Damn that sucks! I was at that track day, didn't realize it was you 😮 Definitely didn't sound good coming off the track. For future reference, there's a 76 in Auburn that has 100 octane - always a good bit of insurance to throw a few gallons in the tank

I had thought about buying some of the 100 octane from the pumps at the track, but thought I was good if I just took it easy and used the octane booster. 🤷

That's a tough day. Glad you got it back together. I'm surprised that the supercharger from Dodge is 11 grand! The magnuson I've been eyeballing forever is 8 grand. Enjoy your runs man, glad you're back up and running!

The shop I took it to offered to put on an aftermarket supercharger. They said it'd be just as good and save me some money. But I was a little afraid to try it after this one blew up because of the modding. I kinda wanted to stick with OEM. Plus, I think one of the best parts of the Hellcats is when you pop the hood and see that iconic supercharger with the badge on it. :)

I'm kinda thinking of breaking out into a 2nd channel. I feel like there's enough people who like track days but couldn't care less about dirt bike racing and vice versa.

Dang thats rough. Hope it treats you well after this. I just took delivery of a 21 Redeye 5/11 with 1,100 miles and it needs new fuel pump. I am going to lightly modify mine for 93 octane and maybe some long tube headers.

That sucks. I think I may have a problem with my fuel pump, too. I got a P0461 for fuel level sensor error. I was also getting some sputtering after getting gas. I explained all this to the shop I took it to and they said to drive it for a bit and see if the issues cleared up since they replaced the aftermarket fuel injectors with the OEM ones that came with the new supercharger assembly. So far, it's been trouble free and no check engine light. But I've only gotten one tank of gas since the repair. Kinda scary to not know how much fuel you have in a car like this. :)

There's no such thing as "taking it easy" at a track day, unless you are only doing parade laps. Just because you aren't stay WOT all the time, you're still driving it hard compared to street driving, and generating more heat that normal use. You were asking for trouble by going anyway, but glad you got is fixed. FYI, for $11 grand, you should've just upgraded the supercharger with a whipple. It's more efficient and has a better intercooler.
