This is a super cool series idea! Always cool to hear insight from someone so close to the topic of conversation, and helps give a nice view of the entirety of the competitors as opposed to focusing on a specific individual (similar to how Packy has started doing his vlogs, giving a broader update on the tournament as a whole by highlighting multiple people). Really looking forward to seeing these each week!

You should have Chris and Darren do a live 30 min recap after day one of tournaments, with you. Discuss what they thought the lanes would play like.. how they are playing. Who has good looks.. how they plan to attack the following day/days

Quite true.. could probably win 2-3 majors, maybe 5, 6 or 7 titles? If he does have a monstrous year as you (and me) think he will have (as he usually does after a disastrous year (based on his lofty standards).. lets see if EJ and Simo (who had a great 2023) can stop Belmo if he is in that mood.. and hoping for D Tang to finally win a pba title.. he's been very very solid recently and is due a win or 2

Almost no NU Blue Hammers this week. I think the Black Pearl Hammer had a nice debut. The IQ 78 was used by a lot of players, but I think lack of a Pitch Black hurt some of the top Storm guys, but not Chris!

Seen simo up there in Milwaukee as you all were in the midst of the WSOB and asked him his thought process using that spare ball to finish out the block. Said he felt confident enough to shoot 2 teen with the spare ball. Didn’t realize how nuts that actually sounded until I entered my first sports shot tournament and did all I could to embarrassingly average 170 🤦 😂

I admire more of the one hander high rev bowlers more than 2 handers. The talent it takes to exit the thumb at the precise fractional second and impart 500+ revs is impressive. Two handers with 500 revs are a dime a dozen, so my one-two picks are EJ and Kevin McCune.

Via/Dom above Troup is a hot take but I respect it. I expect Via and especially Packy on the left side to make a leap this year into that top echelon of 2 handers.

I really have nothing but respect for your ranking of bowlers for the year ahead! Not only was it explained thoroughly with full compassion, and evidence. What got me was that I HONESTLY thought that you were going to put your brother Darren in there and the fact that you didn’t made this pure. Mannn and don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Darren! But I know his coming back off recovery so I personally didn’t see him making the top 10 just yet.

Being that you're already a father, I think that's a life adjustment that can really be underestimated with a newborn for the first time. n I'm sorry but Prather not in your top 5 nor 10! is absolutely insane to me though lol 😂 😂.. Would probably put him where you put Via, but besides that, a fairly solid list.

This was great to watch and listen to. A bit surprised you didn’t have your brother in the mix I think he, packy, and Kyle could have a breakout season, Matt ogle too but with so many great bowlers it’s hard to pick I’m sure. In order from first to last I got packy, ej, Darren, simo, belmo, peters, via, kyle, troup, O’Neil.

@@ScottVansel-qg8ik Don't get me wrong they are both amazing bowlers and highly skilled at what they do. My somewhat anecdotal justification is it seems like I've seen EJ miss by 5 boards with it really counts and he gets frustrated and shoots more 140's than I notice anyone else on tour doing. And where are you getting (3) 300s? He shot 1 in the first round and several 270s then he made a run at the show then fell off the pace.

Im somewhat surprised that there isnt any brotherly love and putting Darren in atleast top 10. Id say if he stays healthy and injury free that he can be a strong competitor this year.

Truthfully a great lineup but much like fantasy football I go with players who are extremely consistent. In no particular order I’d go Belmo, Simo, Ogle, Tackett, Troup, O’Neill, Prather, McCune, Mallott, and AJ Johnson.

How can Simonson be the best bowler in the world? He's not even the POTY? EJ Tackrtt dominated the tour last year..Simonson didn't win another game on TV after he won that major last year..And a losing record against Tackrtt heads up on tv during that same time span..Simonson might be the flashier of the two but I'll take Tackrtt all day every day

As I said, personal opinion. I don’t have any bias toward one or the other, love them both as good friends. I just think Simo has much more to give and he’s going to show out this year. EJ’s year last year was one of the greatest of all time and Simo was right there. Hats off to EJ for 2023 though for sure!
