It certainly can't hurt! I grew up bowling 1-handed and have switched to 2-hand over the past year. It's really opened my eyes what is possible with old equipment as well as how important ball speed truly is. Pitches are slightly different, just rolled to the left a little more for comfort and palm feel, but beyond that the biggest hurdle was and still is the footwork aspect. So hard to drop the 1-handed footwork but it's a fun journey.

It's not for just Rev rate I believe. With how the game is evolving. Two handed is just becoming the way to go and he's trying to adapt to the game with the direction that it is going

@Nick Rossman it's not all about Rev rate, playing two handed makes things alot easier for the bowler not in just Rev rate, but for power, speed, and getting your hand around the ball without having to worry about your thumb getting in the way

Now you are right in a sense as well. Yes being two handed will help increase his Rev rate which I'm sure is one of the perks he likes. The whole reason I believe he is switching is to make things easier on himself in the long run and elevate his game to the place he knows it can/should be at

Love the fact you went through all 6 balls and discussed the layouts. My PAP is 5 3/8 Right and 1 3/8 down. I figured out that my benchmark layouts for symmetrical balls are either 4x4x4 or 4x5x4. And for asymmetrical balls 5 1/4x4 1/2x3 (Shoutout to Chris Via for his video throwing the Absolute, I liked the way the ball motion looked so copied it on my Reality)

I transitioned to two handed. I've only got 3 bowling balls right now. I suppose I made the change to not only challenge myself, but also to see if I could improve. I had bowled one handed for over 20 years haha

It's mainly old guys that cling to the past & say it takes away from the "purity" of the game or some BS. I switched to 2 handed a few years ago & My average went way up, i'm still awful but less awful & it's easier on my body. Like if you want to bowl 1 handed fine, just don't mock me for trying to improve my game by trying something new.

It’s nice to see other professional one handed bowlers embracing the two handed bowling style. There’s too many bowlers that hate on and discredit two handed bowling because they think it’s that much easier. It still takes years and years and years of practice to get to a highly refined level with either style

Mikey, what's the reason for the switch? I understand two handed is the future of the game. But you don't get cheated at the bottom when you are throwing it one handed. So is it to help increase rev rate from your already above average rev rate? Help with accuracy? Consistency? Spare shooting? Or just wanted a new challenge? Be interested to hear your thoughts.

I have been commenting to Brad and Kyle to do exactly what you are doing 2 handed in practice There are many very good 2 handers and the 2 handed lefties are even harder to beat.There is slower transition so less adjustments and 2 handed has better overall carry percentage as far as I can see.Being able to do one handed or 2 handed gives you added advantage of the shots vary widely in a particular tournament .

Also bowling 2 handed can help save your hand and especially your thumb.Also it takes out the swelling aspect of your thumb with tape or cuts on the thumb

If two handed bowling is the only way to compete in today's game then there is something seriously wrong with bowling. When Tennis player's switched to using two hands it did not give them an unfair advantage over a skilled one hander like Roger Federer. It was just a different way to play the game, not a superior way.

It's defintely not the only way, plenty of bowlers every year showcase that on the highest level. However, I think its something that helps different people for different reasons. Without watching the video yet, I can already almost guarantee you that Mikey's revrate is going to go DOWN two handed compared to one handed. The fact is, and I fact MIkey will agree with this as I have noticed it on and off with him over the years, he has a hard time controlling both his execution and ball reaction with all the power he had one handed. Imo, I think two handed will help him have more control (always a plus in higher-level bowling) without losing *too* much power or speed, or maybe none at all. Again, people show it all the time. While people like to make a fuss about power and what not, you don't just see any two handed or one handed power player make it on tour or even at locally higher level. The people who are the best in the world have control, and that's what I think two handed offers Mikey as well as many other bowlers who are just starting or who aren't having success. Just my thoughts as someone who has seen it all evolve. Best of luck, Mikey!

3/8 lateral in both fingers and 1/2 reverse in both fingers for now!

@@evansmith5153 If you find you need a bit more palm feel, try like 1/2" left 1/4" right. It'll also pull the first oil ring slightly left if you are clipping the middle finge hole in any way. Staggering more forward in middle finger and more reverse in the ring will also help with this as it will help the ring finger come out sooner than the middle finger. I have 1/8" forward in the middle and 5/8" reverse in the ring, but adjust this based on finger flexibility (3/4" stagger is the sweet spot) Just a very slightly modified version of your layout for more comfort and adjusting the oil flare rings to start farther away from the middle finger. I'm sure you could layout the ball a a specific way to help with the oil track issue if you had it as well.

Ice is just Storm's version of a plastic ball. It's going to do what any plastic ball would do.
