The detective did it to himself. The detective thought he was the shit, was aggressive, and I hope Scottie sues him. Thank goodness the reporter was with him to see what the police did to Scottie. I back the blue 100% but not when they act like this. It was a total lack of communication between police officers and they screwed up. Not Scheffler.

The volunteers are wearing the same neon jacket. This isn't a regular street, it's on the golf course property and why would you jump on a slow moving vehicle? The fact that a person arrested for assaulting an officer is out of jail so soon lets me know they know the cop overreacted.

My guess. Scottie DID NOT hear the officer's command. The windows were probably up AND he may have been listening to music or on a handsfree phone call. I feel bad for the officer, but why the hell would he grab a moving 1+ ton vehicle? Did he actually think he could stop it? A person cannot comply IF he NEVER heard the command in the first place. It was dark and OTHER officially designated golf vehicles I believe were allowed to pass already.

Arrested for trying to go around an accident, he had nothing to do with. If he caused no harm, no loss or injury to anyone, no crime is committed. This is police overreach, on a power trip, yes a fatality occurred 50 minutes before, the dead person, RIP, will not be affected, by Scottie or anyone else, attempting to circumnavigate the accident. The only people police need to detain, are witnesses, and those involved. Getting traffic moving ASAP should always be the priority, regardless. Peoples lives carry on, that's life. The police forget that sometimes, and go about their business, in a no rush manner, they get paid regardless of the time they take, many others stuck in traffic are not so lucky. Heart still goes out to the family of the dead person.

The fact that they took him in and booked him means the police chief and the governor ok'd it. Soon as he was putting a police car the other cops on the scene were on the phone talking to the police chief who then called up the governorfor sure. How are these charges not just dismissed as soon as they brought them in? That cop who arrested him better have a crystal clean record because somebody's going to go through it with a fine-tooth comb after this. Scottie was in a PGA official car. Supposedly they were told to drive around. Did any other PGA car drive around that same spot before Scottie?
