Polish Origins (PO) gave us the trip of a lifetime. After researching my family tree for 26 years, I had to see the places where my family originated. Went with PO last May on a custom genealogy trip, first to my ancestral towns in Lithuania and NE Poland (my paternal side). Our guide, Daniel, was outstanding, thorough, and very patient. After being on our own in Warsaw and Krakow for about ten days, we met up with our second guide, Zbigniew, to research my maternal side in the old Austrian Partition in SE Poland. We researched in the Premysl archives, in which I found my grandmother's father's death record (he was only 36 and died of tuberculosis), and then discovered she'd lost not only him, but also her mother and an infant sister all in about a year's time. I knew she had been orphaned at age six along with another sister who was only four, but losing her immediate family in such a short time must have been a real trauma for her. We also met relatives, some with whom I am still in touch. My husband, who was originally not into going on this trip, found he loved Poland and its people. He is also a business owner, and was highly impressed with PO. While on our own in Krakow, a non PO tour got screwed up, and he said, "If Polish Origins had handled this, it would not have been screwed up!"
