We're going to make it to the 2024 Pontiac Nationals one way or another, and with the delays we are facing moving the 1968 Pontiac LeMans 350HO project forward, I've decided to tag in Plan B! For those familiar with me and my Pontiac problem, that means we're switching focus over to my 1970 Pontiac LeMans, which is already Pontiac 455 powered and just needs a "few" upgrades to get it ready for drag race duty! The Pontiac 350HU is still happening, I have the new rods and Pistons to take to Bob McVay of Street Racing Channel / The Old Man's Garage fame. So don't worry we aren't giving up on it!
Power wise, I think we're good. This 455 Pontiac has a set of 6x heads, with about 9.5 : 1 compression it makes what should be plenty of power. However, I DO need to figure out a solution to get that power to the pavement, AND a proper stopping solution. With 4 wheel drum brakes, we can certainly look into some quick upgrades. Plan B is now Plan A, now let's plan what we need to spend money on and get this work done in a HURRY so we can do some testing before the event! As with most project cars, this Pontiac Project is never done it seems. There's ALWAYS more upgrades to do!
