To find out, we dragged the facelifted 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe into the ring to spar with the recently-updated 2023 BMW X6 xDrive 40i to see which is the better overall luxury vehicle.
The Porsche will almost certainly outpace the BMW in terms of driving dynamics but there’s more to SUVs than just their ability to surprise and delight customers on a winding coastal road.

My first car was an X6, the active hybrid version then the 5.0 V8. Loved love love to this day. I now Drive the Macan T… entry level to Lots he and is absolutely FUN to drive with sport chronograph. It is a bit to slow for me and currently considering the Cayenne S since it’s in V8 form once again. I’d love to see the Cayenne S vs the X6M. Because BMW is cheaper and accelerates faster I’d want the X6, but I do love the Porsche prestige.

I just drove both cars 2024 models back to back yesterday and have to disagree. The bmw is a more luxurious drive the Porsche is a sports car in a suv. We own a Porsche brand new and it definitely is a sports car drive. Fun to drive but lacks luxury feel compared to our other cars like the Land Rover

Yeah, nothing about M Sport differential with M Adaptive Pro Suspension and Integral Active Steering for BMW... Neither about M Sport Seats with Individual Merino leather.. and the list can go on... I see no plus for the Cayenne, but at the end it's just a matter of brand preference 😊

The X6 does not have as many class level options like the Porsche so of course the base model is better than the base model Cayenne. The Cayenne has the S, GTS, and Turbo Models. The X6 only has the base and M models.

I drove both the X6,M60i and the Cayenne S, ill tell you that its a tough choice between the 2, Im leaning towards the Cayenne S because I feel its just better in terms of drive, feeling on the road, the sound of the sport exhaust is just amazing, the handling, suspension, and transmission is a dream. BMW does offer a superior free 3 years oil changes or 36k miles and that's a big saving. Their options is also much cheaper compared to the Porsche, The price of the Cayenne S balloons up with all the option but then again, it's a Porshe. Overall, BMW just offers more value for the dollar, and it's faster, so it's a matter of preference and how much you wanna spend. You can't go wrong with either one.

It doesn't matter if it's a coupe or not, I have a Cayenne S Coupe. It's simply an aesthetic design change from the base model and has nothing to do with performance. Maybe a slight improvement in aerodynamics but minimal. The Cayenne launched in 2002, which is the first luxury SUV to ever be released. So, BMW and other competitor brands have followed Porsche's steps, and are still behind today.

Cayenne is a bulbous design, kinda "football mom car" , in my opinion it's more suitable for a family person. X6 is as close as you can get to "I'm single and available" message.
