@@FreeSpeech4All As much as that is true I find even the suggestion outlandish. I've studied both periods from a macro investment perspective and the two eras couldn't be fundamentally more different. From debt to demographics and industrial capacity and wage levels it's like night and day. This is the night part of the comparison if you were wondering. We're actually in the midst of a depression that has saw more wealth destruction than that of the dirty 30's. Economic growth has been well below trend since 2008, the financial crisis we have yet to recover from. Our money system is broken and it's not getting better. I don't know what data that gentleman is looking at, or if he looks at data at all, but it couldn't be different than what I see.

@@loganwallace911 I completely agree. This is much worse than the 70's... yet I still expect it to get even worse as we're likely to see another oil shock as OPEC+/BRICS ditch the dollar... followed by massive shortages caused by this idiotic admin implementating wage and price controls. Both similar to the 70's, but the effects will be much, MUCH worse... largely for the reasons you cited. Debt, demographics, divisiveness, etc.

Modern warfare is not the old school ships, planes and tanks. While the US does have some geographical advantages, it's a lot easier to mess with the US now (cyber warfare, bio warfare, drones, etc.). Look at what the Houthis are doing with limited budgets and tech.

I love the blunt statement "we conquered western Europe" although the ennemies were only Germany and Italy. I fully agree with that. The US took control of Western Europe, wether they were former ennemies, neutral or allies. I also agree with the statements that Russia had to attack because of NATO and we predicted it. Also that we don't care about Ukraine. Both are cynical and true. On the other hand, speaking of China as an economy in bad shape is true when comparing with the growth rate of the past 10 years. It is not true if we compare with westerne economies.

An enlightened citizenry is indispensable for the proper functioning of a republic. Self-government is not possible unless the citizens are educated sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all its citizens. It should be noted, that when Jefferson speaks of "science," he is often referring to knowledge or learning in general. He also talked about "central banks" This is why America is in trouble your comments prove we are poorly educated. We deserve everything that is coming to us.

Hmmm - @40:10: But the 911 attackers WERE detected training to fly jets and that was reported by the regional FBI, and the idea of terrorists crashing planes into buildings WAS on the US national security system's radar. Heck, part of the many on-going military exercises on 911 included a plane crash into a tower, though the exercise described it as an accidental crash. (None of this is 'conspiracy theory' stuff, btw.) They just failed to add 1+1 to get 2. I think it is totally fair to call that an "intelligence" failure, rather than a surveillance failure.

The biggest loss of Gaza war to US was that US lost moral edifice on which US stood in the world. Russia through Iran and its proxies, initiated the conflict that torn apart two very important foundations on which military and economic ascendancy of US rest. Using holocaust as strategic tool, that could have been stopped in 1939 by USA/ UK, but used by British as strategy to control jewish finance, that was taken over by USA after WW2, and the moral reason to initiate war around USSR to control it resources through wall street and losing Ukraine war wherein Isreal became a casualty because it was so unprepared for it, that it committed to massacres, losing its moral foundation that modren state of Isreal was created due to Holocaust. If it was so, why did Isreal commit to massacres. Russia won morally, even when it massacred Ukraiain for just having a choice as sovereign nation to joining NATO, saved Russia by integrating its economy to East with China and India and won a war through Hamas, Hazbulla and Houthis, while also wining in global south, Muslim world and Africa. Russia won Isreal became a casuality and US lost and China without spending a single pennyvwon the world. God Bless
