Definitely a 200” buck here 😂

Haha I get a little excited sometimes, definitely wasn’t a 200 incher but probably would have pushed 190 that year. That buck ended up scoring 178 and some change the year I killed him.

I’ve never really went out to shed hunt, but this year would love to. Where should I look? Is there a typical spot where they would normally shed?

I would look close to the best winter food sources. I find a lot in night bedding areas close to food where there’s a wind break and grass bedding. Thermal cover like cedars, scrub oaks, or CRP. I focus on south and south east facing ridges where they get the most sun, especially when they need it most in the morning. I try and pay attention to the wind direction when most bucks are shedding and search the corresponding bedding areas for those specific bucks, assuming those bedding areas are known by you. Those are a few tips to get you started.. good luck!
