Nah, you dont understand nothing, is not a question of distance, is a question of type of greyhound, the english greyhound, saluki, irish etc, at distances under 1000 mts can race and win because have explosive start, but after 1000 mts his stamina go down, alltrough spanish greyhound can race much more than 2000 mts without problem, his start is not explosive like others greyhound, but at long distances spanish greyhound has no rival, because it has more stamina than other greyhounds.

Why on earth must they cut off their dogs ears. The nearly look like Greyhounds, and they only race after a stuffed bunny! Its cruel and illegal!

Clipping ear lobes is an ancient tradition, done to prevent the shredding of ears on thorny bushes etc. while running on top speed, a single stride of 10 to 12 feet. Salukis love running, chasing and killing prey; they've been bred to do that for thousands of years. Also lure coursing is not illegal, it's a sport and a hobby both dogs and their respective humans can enjoy. However using live animals as lures is illegal in most countries, therefor stuffed bunnies.

Nothing of saluki race, saluki cant win never a race over 800 mts, the winner is spanish greyhound, because have much more stamina than other greyhounds, the stamina is completely necessary for that distance about 2000 mts and spanish greyhound has not rival at this distance.

Raising dogs is haram except for halal purposes like guarding or as shepherds. for hunting dogs there is a particular ruling that forbids you from eating your dog’s hunt if it doesnt give it to you voluntarily, if you had to pull it off its mouth then you cant eat it. And also, dog’s saliva is unclean (not in a physical sense), if it touches your clothes, you cant pray before washing your cloths 7 times one of them with dirth. Thats except for hunting dog in the aforementioned mentioned situation
