I have been reading for 60 years, I am going to be 64 this year and I Love books. Never thought about doing a reading journal until I saw them om you tube. Just ordered my notebook, could not get one from Archer and Olive so got one from Beechmore Books on Amazon and several sticker packages etc. Really looking forward to trying some of the ideas I have seen on you tube. Thanks so much for the informative videos. Good luck with the move.😊

Love love love!!! I've been thinking about doing bullet journal content on my channel even though I'm just a bookish vlog style channel. But idkkk you convinced me!!! And I usually do my yearly bookshelf with all the books I read coloring them in by star rating but by genre just BLEW MY MIND!!! I think I may take inspiration and do that as well 😅

there's honestly so many different ways you can do it!

I love your journal! 😍For your books that you own, maybe write in your newly acquired books in a different color or font so they are distinct and then as you read them you can cross them off to both keep track of them, but also pat yourself on the back for reading them. Good luck with your move!!

Ooooh that's a really good idea! Thanks for the suggestion.

Love your setup! I have a ‘backlog’ spread in my reading journal and your idea is exactly what I do. If I purchase a new book and don’t read it within a month (usually), I add it to that spread to make sure it stays on my radar! It works really well for me.

I think that's exactly what I'll do this year!

Congrats on your pregnancy!! The spreads all look amazing. Im glad you said the time it took because I feel bad about how tired I get while book journaling or when a spread takes days to finish. 😅
@plannedplanted8 ай бұрын
thanks so much! And lol yes some of the set-up spreads can take a while. But after that I rarely spend too much time on a single spread!

I find this very endearing as someone who just started journaling. Thank you for showing the mistakes because I keep feeling out about mine.

I’m so glad it helped! Mistakes are inevitable. With time you will figure out plenty of ways to either correct it or live with it :) it’s just paper!

Love your setup! Gave me so many ideas! Where did you get the kraft paper from? is it thick?
@plannedplanted9 ай бұрын
The kraft paper I'm using here is mostly up-cycled stuff! Like food/medication bags, grocery sacks etc. that I save and rip up :) I also have some dot grid kraft paper for when I have more writing and that I get from an Archer & Olive neapolitan notepad.

The way I do it, I have a goal to read at least 50% of the books I haul that year, then also read books I've owned previously. I suppose it's kind of hard for you though, if you're tracking how much you save by using the library, maybe you're subconsciously more likely to use the library instead of reading your already owned tbr? Maybe that '$400 saved' is too tempting a stat, so you accidently don't read your own tbr?
@plannedplanted8 ай бұрын
that's very possible! I think if I track what books I purchase better, I'll be more inclined to read them. I will say though I think I did read at least 50% of the books I purchased this year.

How do you do a book bingo?
@plannedplanted8 ай бұрын
It’s just like regular bingo! Once you finish a book that fulfills one of the squares you color it in. You can try for 5 in a row or blackout or whatever
