One of the worst aspects of the top cards be so prohibitively expensive is that it has forced almost everyone who was a collector to become an investor. I used to love collecting when the most expensive cards were $100 to $200, but now if I want the top card I have to consider how it will do over time or wait 3 years to buy it, drastically limiting how many other cards I can collect.

@@ChienNguyen-wd8qu Yes, If you look at an ungraded base set Charizard for instance prices vary from $50 to $10,000. But A PSA 8 remains stable as condition is the same across the board.

Ima def have to buy the pikachu ex raw and get a 10! Surging sparks is beating evolving skies right now but in the long run evolving skies will pull back ahead!! Evolving skies has way more Alt arts and is way better imo!

Including surging sparks is weird. The only graded copies are those that have been expressed and have a high first-to-market premium. You can’t really compare those cards to evolving skies that has had years to find a true market price

@@HammerStudioGamesThe reason why it’s not a good idea to include it on this list is because new sets are way to volatile and fluctuate drastically on a daily basis. Case and point, I’m writing this 3 days after this video and the price of that pikachu in a 10 has already almost halved.

None of the surging sparks should be on here. Give it a year, then come back to see how expensive they are. I remember when the rainbow pikachu was going for over 2k when Vivid voltage was crazy during COVID. There are some similar circumstances going on right now for surging sparks with this current boom. Not as big as COVID, but a boom nonetheless.

You're in denial. Surging sparks is nowhere similar to Vivid Voltage. Best main set we have gotten since Evo Skies

Butthole Pikachu is such an ugly chase card to me. I understand it’s pikachu so it’ll be a lot but the art work just isn’t as good as some of the other SIRs in that set

where do you get the pop stats from? When i look up the cards on the PSA population report, i typically see that they're lower. like Glaceon Vmax alt art is showing 704 PSA 10s on the PSA pop report website

I’ve got 17 of 20. Waiting for the insane hype for these brand new cards to die down, and it certainly will. Latias, gold Pikachu, and butthole Pikachu are not long-haul top dollar cards.

Brother nothing is topping that Moonbreon. Its a modern day shadowless first ed Zard. The surging sparks cards shouldnt be on this list considering they're so new. In no way would I put Latias in the top 5. I dont think Surging Sparks is a great set either. Its largely expensive due to limited supply during a holiday period and all the modern alts are getting pumped right now. I have almost all the cards on this list and would gladly sell them if someone made a good offer. I'll let ppl go for modern while I swoop in now and go get the vintage.
