I just bought a full art Misty's determination. It was textured but the back of the card was WAY too glossy smooth. I've never felt a pokemon card that smooth and I immediately knew it was fake.

My question is, is it better to open the boxes, or just keep the whole box sealed? Is it better to risk it for a valuable card?

I think all of this just kind of suggests SV era cards will age well. I don’t obsess over value but I think people will remember it as a fantastic era for art

Where can u find a below $50 pokemon 151 japanese?

a while ago my dad gave me all of his old pokemon card collection of a full first edition base set, full fossil and jungle set along with some good rocket cards. Do you know what the best way to preserve them is? The whole of the sets are in the original binders with the fossil set being quite bent from bad keeping but the base set are in near mint condition. I guess my main questions are is there a way to safely flatten down the bent cards and is it worth going through and hard sleeving every card and/or getting them PSA graded? Thanks in advance!

Umbreon is my favorite pokemon, but I agree. The moonbreon card isn't that great. Magikarp on the other hand is fantastic. I think it's unlikely the rarity is equal for each card based on the uncut sheets I've seen.

I would also add the "Pokémon Crown Zenith Shiny Zacian/Zamazenta Premium Figure Collection" to this list. At the moment at around 70€. 11 boosters of Crown Zenith alongside with the Zacian or Zamazenta promo card, some sleeves and the figure it is a great product to display and if you ever decide to open it, Crown Zenith is one of the most fun sets to open.

I usually avoid collection boxes due to size, but I do own a few of the Arceus V boxes. Cosmic Eclipse is only getting older! That Pikachu box has some nice displayability! Very pleasing to the eye.

The Arceus VSTAR Premium Collection is definitely one to add. On sale here in the UK for £36!

I think the crown zenith zacien & zamazenta figure collections are nice display items that are still cheap, I find them on sale a lot too.

Glad I held out on 151 I remember people saying it’s a pick up at 200 which I thought was wild.

If you're on a tight budget just buy a load of water energy cards and use them to wallpaper your bathroom.

I have 4 out of the 5 and very happy with that

Guess it depends what you mean by long term.. if you are young and planning to save sealed items for 20+ years id say most of your stuff will definitely go up in value. Depends how much time space and money you have.. And if i make more money on it or not.. the way i see it that we can all agree on is that its a great way to save money.. you cant spend pokemon.. so if you have saved up in pomemon.. and have lots of it.. one day when you need money you can just sell it all and you have your money back if not more. Win for me either way cause i cant save cash if my life depended on it.. 😅

The last time I collected Pokémon was when I was 7 or 8 years old. I’m now 34 and my kid likes Pokémon. I did some research and started collecting 151 with her. Why is it getting so much flack? I’m missing like 5 cards (and 15 or so illustration rares) and it’s been super fun getting back into things and seeing familiar Pokémon.

As of right now I got a 178/226 of the cards

I opened 5 etbs a booster bundle, and had got almost 150 cards

I pulled the Fusion Strike espeon vmax, and I was pretty excited at the time. It’s hovered around 100-120 since I pulled it, but recently it jumped all the way to 320. It almost feels like I pulled it all over again.

The fake is sleeved to show a more fair comparison to the real card which is also sleeved
