come on guys, you have increased the bar too high for other reviewers :) I recently tried for two days the Experience 80 Carbon, 2025 model, and compared to my old Exp 84 Ai (Basalt) it was like i had a cheat code on the slopes. Amazing edge grip (even on steep and icy conditions), great and easy carving, much lighter but equally firm on the slopes. i ski at a max speed of 70-75kms/h so stability at high speed is not an issue with these skis. Also, very good on some fresh snow on the side of the piste. And with less effort than my 2017 Exp 84 Ai. Waiting for your review as well but i think i will buy them before that :)

Hi! Many thanks for your great videos! I am 40 years old , 174cm tall and 84kg,intermediate advanced skier, skiing most of the time on groomers , firm in the morning , bumpy and slushy at noon . I also like carving. Which ski would you recommend and what size . Völkl deacon 80 or 84 Rossignol 82 ti Or Nordica steadfast 85dc.

I've had a wonderful time on the Steadfast 85 as it's so incredibly smooth and easy to carve. It's pretty versatile as well, just not the top end of stability and power as the Deacon 84 or the Experience. If you're not super aggressive, I'd say the Steadfast 85 is the way to go.

Hi, loving the video reviews! I'm 6'1" (185cm) + 216lbs (98kg) Back after a 25year hiatus, advance level, 600+ days ski Looking at the Rossi Experience 82ti for touch of versatility but unsure of the length. I like to ski fast and aggressive on piste and partial to some moguls. This season I started off on a pair of Head 177cm - (not sure which model but had a traditional camber and tip rocker) I returned them after the 1st day as they just felt too short. (but this could be because I was used to 190 / 196 piste ski before sidecuts and tapers so psychologically seemed too short) I was given Rossignol Hero Elite MT CAM 183cm I liked the length and stability on groomers when skiing aggressive and length just felt right. However in moguls they felt too long and cumbersome. My dilemma is whether to go with the Rossi 82ti 176 or 184? The 82ti's front and tail rocker are more aggressive than the Head + Hero. As such will the 184s actually feel shorter than the Hero 183s or will they still get in the way on moguls? On the flip side scared 176 will feel even shorter than the head 177 (but maybe as they are stable ski won't have that effect)? Your advice is much appreciated. Thank in advance

I'd go with the 82 Ti in the 184. If you're used to longer skis, this one makes sense. The tip and tail rocker, although still slight, will make the ski feel a bit shorter and more accessible in moguls.

I know these skis are discontinued at this point (there are some deals to be had!), but do you have any thoughts on differences between these and the Deacon 84? I'm a 6' 185lb progressing intermediate to advanced east coast skier mainly cruising blue and single black groomers. Not very interested in off trail, but I would like to try some more moguls this year. Thanks!!

It's a good comparison. The 82 Ti has a lot of camber while the Deacon 84 is a flatter ski overall. This gives the Rossignol more of an energetic personality with great rebound and a solid feel. The Deacon has a crisp and precise character but isn't as stable or powerful. If you're mainly cruising groomers, I bet you'd like the Deacon a bit better if you can find it.

What would you recommend? I am 40 years old, advanced/expert for all-day fun on the slopes in various conditions. Ice in the morning, moguls in the afternoon. 182 cm tall, 210 lb. I like fast, stable driving. Fischer RC One 82 GT or Rossignol Experience 82ti. Thanks

I think the Experience has more to offer here in terms of versatility and well-roundedness. I find the Fischer to be an outstanding carver but it lacks in the all-mountain department. Rossignol does it all very well, and happens to be very stable at speed.

Hi, I’m an intermediate advanced skier with 50 ski days experience, 170cm tall, 148lb , mainly on blue or black trails, I do like to carve and also want to learn to be more comfortable and smooth on moguls next season. Which ski would you recommend , 82 ti or 82 basalt, and which length ? Will 160 be too short? And will 168 too long? Or do you have other recommendations? Thank you ❤

The Basalt is certainly easier to maneuver in moguls and in a carved turn. I do fear that the Ti may be a bit stiff and heavy for what you're looking to do, and if you are looking for agile, quick, and light, the 82 Basalt is the way to go here. I'd go 168 if you're going to the lighter ski.

these or elan 82 cti vs the declivity 82 ti ? was stuck between the two hoping for a left over pair but thats not happening lol so now i have a choice to make between the two
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
Very similar skis. You're getting strong edge grip, fantastic carving performance, and with the added versatility in the Declivity and the Rossignol--Elan is more square and sharp, taking some of that all-mountain nature away.

@@SkiEssentials im leaning heavily to the declivity but worry about it being to narrow not enough to stand on vs maybe the kendo 88 is the two im very torn between

Michael Rooney (your tester) says "(This is a great ski for intermediates"). It's hard for me to think about a ski with titanal as an intermediate ski. Isn't that what the basalt is for?

Yes you are correct. We've noticed this trend with Michael for a few years now.

How these compared to 86ti in terms of stiffness and edge grip?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
They're pretty darn similar. The 82 is just a hair quicker and more responsive but they feel very, very much the same overall.
