I'm 77, have skied for 65 years. I bought the Forza 60 after your earlier comments and finally got to test it two days ago. Splendid! I was worried about stability at speed, but (well maybe "speed" is relative!!) it was fine for me. I do not ski really fast anymore, but the 60 was very stable underfoot even pushing it...and no wandering on cat tracks. Turn initiaion is intantaneous, and, like you said, shorter turns work super well. I also have the Head Supershape E-Rally and the Head Kore 87...the Forza is better than both for me, but frankly those Heads are good boys too. Thanks very much!

Awesome! I like the notion of speed being relative. Ask any racecar driver and they'll tell you--it's not how fast you go in the straights, it's how fast you go in the turn. I felt the same way about these Forza's. The speed in the turn was exemplary.

Couldn’t resist after testing the Forza 60 171 for a day two weeks ago in the French alps. Got it right out of the box, so to say, not prepped at all so they didn’t glide all that well. Anyway, I appreciated its easy-going nature and its versatility (being understood that I’m an upper intermediate not looking for ultimate speed or stability). These are very accessible skis like most Rossignols and I felt quickly felt at home on ‘m. Really fun skis which are also comforting, knowing they won’t overwhelm you and accompany you infallibly all day long. Ordered a pair when I came home. Can’t wait to prepare mine in good order (waxing & edges) and hit the slopes with these beautiful 60s!

Really interested to hear this. I'm loving this format, it's so comprehensive. Great footage of you guys skiing on them, lovely relaxed and fluid technique, you can really tell Jeff has done a lot of park skiing! I'm really keen to have a go on these skis, I have a feeling they're going to be a big success for Rossi. I think the market has been crying out for this type of ski, instructors will love to have their students on them. I hope you guys review the Forza Master too, I'm so curious about that ski, like why put a race plate on the Forza rather than just go for a Hero Elite or Hero Master Ski? I'm aware some NASTAR racers have already gotten them as GS skis for next year which is a big vote of confidence in them. I hope this range breaks through in NA, as a European I'm always so baffled as to why so many people ski on such wide skis over on your side of the pond (I think you have to be a pretty advanced skier to really make use of a 100mm+ wide ski), when as you say the vast majority would have a better experience on some proper carving skis. I have a real suspicion that rental shops in France and Italy that currently hand out Hero Elites and Volkl Racetiger SL's in huge numbers (often they're honestly too much ski for a lot of people) are going to switch to the Rossi Forza, it seems the ideal ski for those once a year 1 week skiers that we have a lot of over here. I'd be very interested to see how an intermediate gets on skiing them. I hope this trend towards carving skis continues, for me carving is the most fun you can on skis! Great work as always!

as a former racer it sounds like the 70 is a GS ski and and the 60 is Slalom.. those were mainly the races that i skied and i was better at Slalom.. i never skied a Downhill but i have skied a Super G and the skis were really long and it took a LOT to get from edge to edge but you could really lay them up on edge... that is what it sounds like when you compare the 2 skis..

Just another great review guys! I’ve been very curious to hear about this ski from you guys! Great description of performance based on rider size, ski size and ability. I bought a pair HRC’s 174 last year and wondered how they might compare to the 70? Anyways, thanks again for the great info! My ski IQ continues to grow thanks to you guys!

Firstly, the 70 and 60 have very different personalities. While the 70 is actually quite a bit of fun in softer snow as well as hard stuff, I can't quite say the same about the 60, which is decidedly more firm-snow oriented. Second, the HRC is still more born from a race ski than the Forza. In Rossignol's line, the Hero Elite MT Ti is more similar to the HRC. Forza 70 is a front side ski, the HRC is a wide-bodied race ski, if that makes sense.

The thing I liked about the 70 was definitely that it didn't complain doing longer turns too. Atleast the masters version with plate.

I had a blast on the 70's, the non-master, in a shorter length, and in longer turns. I found that ski to be very versatile in both turn shape and style as well as in different snow conditions and terrain. I can only imagine the Master takes that dampness to the next level.

Hi Guys, as usual great work! As a daily carver which would be your #1 choice between a Forza 70 or 60 - wingman black edition - Laser SC - Brahma88. One of these skis would complete my two daily (depending on snow conditions here in the east and mood) : Ripstick 96 black edition and RC4 SC PRO
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
I like the sounds of the wider options on your list like Brahma and Wingman. If you're looking for a front side shape with less weight and more energy, the Elan makes good sense. If you are leaning to the ultimate in stability and power, the Brahma 88 is unmatched. To complement what you have, I think I'd personally take the Brahma.

Excellent review as always. I have a pair of Navigators 172 which is great for my level (progressing intermediate). Almost always on piste, I wish to try a dedicated carver to improve my short radius turns. I am 53, 5'9" and 158lb. Which length of Forza 60 (164, 171) is a better fit? Thanks!

Hey guys, currently I ride with a pair of 2021 Elan Ripsticks, 106 underfoot. I’m an intermediate / advanced skier, comfortable around the whole mountain. I was looking for a lighter, more playful complement to pair with it for groomers / TP. Twin tip would be a plus. What would you recommend?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
I'd look to the low to mid-90's twin tip zone, and the Head Oblivion 94 jumps to mind. Liberty Origin 96 on the slightly wider side and Nordica Unleashed 90 and Black Crows Captis also make a lot of sense in this region.

Hi there, I am an Intermediate-Advanced level skiier closer to advanced, 6'3" 180lbs. Since I live in Australia im usually skiing groomed runs which can occasionally get slushy by the end of the day with what little snow we get here, but I would like a good carving ski with enough stability to go through the late-day crud. What would you recommend?

I'd look to something in the low 80's underfoot. More front side shapes include Volkl Deacon 80, Elan Wingman 82 Ti, or a 2024 Nordica Steadfast 80. For slightly more versatility, look to the Armada Declivity 82 Ti, Black Crows Divus, or Rossignol Experience 82 Ti. Have fun! SE

Love your reviews and been following you for years. We mainly ski in Tirol, Austria, so a lot of steep slopes, mainly dark red and black runs. I'm 47 and have been working as a ski instructor in my 20s, so upper intermediary / advanced I would say. Currently skiing an old Völkl Code Red which is a good all-rounder, but my daughters who are in the local slalom club are really strong now, so I need something that allows me to keep up with them 😂. Especially on the black runs. From your test I get a feeling these are not ideal on hard steep terrain. Am I right? I also like combining with longer carving turns when it flatten outs (red and blue runs), but also here it feels like you are not convinced they love those longer turns. If this ski is not for me, are there any other models you would recommend?
@SkiEssentials

I don't think this Forza is a step up from the Code Red. I'd check out the Rossignol Hero Elite MT or the Blizzard Spitfire 74 for steep and firm speed performance with mixing turn shapes and styles.

@@SkiEssentials Would you say one of the Head Supershape versions (Magnum, Titan, Rally, Speed, Original) would be another good alternative, or are they performing at a level slightly below Hero Elite MT and Spitfire 74?
@SkiEssentials

@@BeautifulKrk They are performance-similar to the other skis listed for sure. The Original has more of a slalom cut, along with the Magnum, while the titan and the Speed are longer radius options. The Rally falls in the middle, similar to the Spitfire and MT.

I'm 5'8" and 180 lbs intermediate skier. I spent 16 days last year skiing a mindbender 90C at 172cm. I have skied off and on since I was a little kid. Never trying to improve. This past year was the first I spent trying to improve. I'd like to work on carving this coming year. I am really interested in this ski. Is it appropriate? If not could you recommend any others? Also if I were to get this would you recommend the 164 or 171? Thanks! Love your videos.

The Forza is a quicker and easier to turn ski. The Hero is still somewhat based on a race shape, albeit in bigger numbers, but it is more squared-off than the Forza. If you're looking for a bit more power, I'd go with the MT

@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 10 ай бұрын
The 60 takes a bit of a step back in both shape and build. In terms of shape, the 70 is more square in the tips and tails, giving it a crisper start and finish to the turn. For the build, the 70 has a full titanal beam while the 60 only has metal underfoot. You're missing out on some higher-speed stability with the 70, as well as a damper feel overall. The 60 seems to like being turned in shorter arcs while the 70 can accommodate both long and short turns with greater range of composure.

Hey guys how r u? Mirus core vs Forza 60. Ur input would b highly appreciated. Best from Texas.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
Different style of turn between these two. The Mirus Cor has a more symmetrical shape to it and you can ski it in the center portion to get access to that radius while the Forza is more traditional in the sense that you need to pressure the tips in order to get the most out of the ski. There's considerably more versatility with the wider and floatier Mirus Cor while still keeping that front side feel intact. If you are only on groomers, I'd stick to the Forza, but for more of an all-mountain feel, the Mirus Cor will handle woods and bumps nicely.
