I have wanted to tell you this for awhile. I am a retired educator and I volunteer time with the elderly who have reading difficulties or simply just never learned how to read. -- I have introduced you channel to some of the ladies (as they could not read the books) so they could listen to you do your shows. I am not sure if you ever realized that your book reading is reaching out to people who can't.

I have done the same thing. We volunteer at a nursing room and I loved sharing Shauna's reading The Housekeeper's Diary and the Stephen Barry books with an 88 year old British woman who lived in England until 2010. She loved it and shared stories of the Royal family

I agree totally about Lady C’s revised book. She actually mentioned on her broadcast that it had been very difficult. It was a very dense book, very well written and I could not put it down nor skim it. To me that’s the true test of a good book. Fergie is on one hand very shrewd and on the other has the common sense of a newt.

I didn’t read the original version of Lady C’s book because I was happy to hear other people discussing it but I did get the updated version and found it very interesting . Lady C is like Tom Bower and others who aren’t afraid to discuss people and events because they have the facts and not just opinions.

When you commented on the Kings death and Charles only being 3 yr. old. I imagine the great love the Queen Mum and Queen Elizabeth had for King George that Charles was filled daily with fabulous stories of this great man taken from them too soon.

Something that I didn't put together the first time you reviewed Hardman's Charles biography is that King Charles and Princess Anne learned of their grandfather's death BEFORE their parents. I can only imagine that was an extra stress for the new queen, to not have been there for her children when they experienced their first loss.

In one episode of Midsomer Murders, a new sergeant observes to Barnaby (John Nettles), that there are an awful lot of murders for such a quiet, rural county. You have directed me to some great books thank you. I wonder though do you ever read really light hearted slightly silly books? I love Rhys Bowen Royal Spyness books have you heard of them? First one is "Her Royal Spyness" . The research seams very good and you feel caught up in the lives of the Royals. The Prince of Wales and Mrs Simpson. the young Elizabeth who is so good on a horse. The etiquette of having tea with the Queen. Bliss take a look.

Thanks for this Shauna! It’s just my speed! The only book I’ve listened to in full was the one from a year or so ago about King Charles III and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d love to get lady C’s revisioned book but it’s not in audiobook or wasn’t last time I looked. I can’t do the actual written word. No matter how interesting, they put me to sleep. I seem to recall at the time the photos were published, the photos belonged to the “Financial Advisor “ and were found in a drawer by the cleaning lady, who sold them to the press. Dont know if that is true, just the story published at the time.

Honestly, I don’t know if I could believe everything Lady Colin Campbell says. I did get the first H&M book and was going to get the second, until I saw what happen when Cheere Denise watched the video of one of her (Lady Cs) claims in ‘Dianna’. The story didn’t at all match up with what Lady C said in the book. Cheere just asked what we, her viewers thought when we watched it. Lady C literally went into the comments of Cheere’s videos and went off on her. It was quite unhinged! It was quite apparent that Lady C had exaggerated and was untruthful about the event. I have to question everything she writes now.

I'm no fan of H&M, but find some narratives are unbalanced and some facts ignored as they don't fit the narrative. I really felt for Cheere, even though I don't follow her channel, I did catch the episode where she was in bits because of Lady C's reaction to her work being questioned. I've stopped listening to Lady C and TRG. Shauna, Taz and Pluto are my current favourites.
