Iv done a lot of snowmobiling also raced Cats SX and pro XC 17 years with many wins and championships. Iv never had to good of luck with plastic backers. Yes there light if ur a drag racer might be a good choice. But iv had plastic break or eventually give up there rigidity curl up giving up good stud support. I will only use aluminum backers now after to many bad experiences with plastic. Double backers I swear by all I really like to use anymore. Unless I’m studding outside belts of course going drag racing also add some fresh studs in the middle belt like the round backers.

I’ve used the plastic backers from stud boy and they were brittle and loosened quickly. The fast Trac is a different animal - u can’t compare it to traditional plastic - it doesn’t cut into the track and weaken the track like an aluminum backer and this poly material is tough. I haven’t had any isssues yet with the fast track backers

My fast track studs did amazing last year on my ski doo competition..would definitely recommend 2000 miles not a bent broke or dull stud ...And i do alot of road crossings at time's..Great product

The solution should be to install a drop and roll chain case, something that should have been done by the factory.
