Same. When I look at all the old rider footage, it’s mainly FX and softail big twins, very small amount of baggers. I get that six speeds and a fairing will get you places farther and faster but for around town or a region it’s perfect for that.

The Softail is the best bike to start with if you are into customization. Great bike to start out with. Bare bones stock then stage 1, or 2. Next ape-hangers, and led mini bullets, change out the forward controls for something flashy and cool looking. Get that new slim line seat to lower your butt even more. After a year or so you either invest in a decent tuner, or bump up the engine a few cc's. Windshield is optional, depends on where, or how far you are riding. Sissy bar so the old lady wont fall off on the way home from the bar. Then one morning you come out, look at your bike and start adding, or subtracting all over again. I started with a 2nd hand 2002 Softail Standard with the 88" twin cam. Still in my herd but has changed appearance several times and close to 100K on original lower end.

@@Miltiades_lymperopoulos the engine on this bike, the one on the video is called the Milwaukee 8, it will make a deeper sound but you have to add a slip on exhaust or a full exhaust kit to achieve that deep tone because the new bikes ship with a EPA compliant exhaust in order to pass emissions testing and it restricts the noise and changes the tone.

change the tank to a 5 gal fatbob, add some rake to the front end, put spoke or solid wheels, shorten the exhaust, put a bobbed rear fender and then it would be nice. it would also be a 1990 softail standard. i would be surprised if these are a big seller. but i'm an old guy who grew up riding amf's and evo's so i am out of touch with the modern harley rider.

Rubbish. I'm so tired of hearing about how some of the Harley's in the Softail lineup are platforms to build on. It's just a line of fancy BS that means you will end up spending way more money! How about this? Making ABS standard, and increasing the size of the fuel tank! Would it have killed Harley to make a 4 or even a 4.2 gallon tank on this model??!! Instead you're left with a small tank on a big engine "cruiser" that only gets you 130 miles in range! Here's a thought. For less money you can get a Triumph Bonneville. A finely tuned and engineered bike with it's own heritage dating back to the early 1960's. And to top it off, you get, ABS, two riding modes, heated grips/cruise control traction control and a very capable and lightweight bike with plenty of power. Harley Davidson is clueless...or maybe the folks who buy them are complete suckers who are being taken for a ride..no pun intended!!
@KennyQuestShow2 ай бұрын
If you want a larger tank then for similar money you would buy a 2018-2022 FXLR. This video is not for comparison to other brands and alternative offerings. Imagine you just posted on a forum where we’re discussing the benefits of dating an Asian woman and you go on about how redheaded Scottish women are much better. It’s apples and oranges, go ride your Union Jack and be happy and respect those who choose something different than what you would choose. I assure you Harley riders are well aware of Triumph and what they bring to the riding experience. I’ve posted reviews of their bikes, this just happens not to be a triumph review nor comparison there of.
