Oh damn! I just noticed the laced wheel update. I've been dying for tubeless for my 18 heritage and nothing I feel looked right or were just too heavy for me to get past. They might have just stopped me selling trading my bike. Finally some good wheels!!

I still find it baffling that you have to pay extra if you want to have the bike in black... Always thought that the chrome process was more expensive!

It’s the current CEO’s goal to “re-wire” the company for more profit per unit sold, black being a more desirable color way provides and opportunity for more profit.

IMO the biggest problem with Harley Davidson is the price, my first Harley was a night train and a year later I got a street glide, both bikes were bought used and combined I’ve got less $$ money in them than the cost of a new touring Harley, And every dealer will try to tell you to start small with a sportster and upgrade to a bigger bike when you get more experience, but to me once you’ve gotten what I consider a bar hopper and a touring bike there’s really no reason to go back to the dealership to get a brand new model when the only thing that’ll be different is the paint and maybe a couple extra hp, definitely not worth spending upwards of $30k for. I love the the brand and would never try to talk someone out of buying one but when you can buy 3 used Honda motorcycles off marketplace for the price of a used softail at a dealership there’s a problem. No everyone is a diehard fan.
@KennyQuestShow3 күн бұрын

We need to eliminate the EPA standards, and let the motorcycling industry get back to building some common sense pricing. I'll never be buying a new Harley-Davidson.

Typically the first upgrade we do as consumers is replace the exhaust, re-tune the bike. No matter what brand the EPS barrier to achieve performance exists. But I agree buying a pre-owned model where the previous owner paid for the mods is the way to go.

The Outlaws MC being founded in 1935 like the men who founded HAMC IN 1948 would have served in WW2 some of the original Outlaws WW1 even. The bikeriders begins about 1964 I dont know if the real Johnny Davis was a veteran but most of those guys wouldve been WW2 or Korea Vets. That group of men were mentally tougher overall then the boys who went to Vietnam. Also they didnt for the most part use hard dope. You factor in the particular circumstances around Vietnam and all the drugs you get a group of guys who feel the worlds against them so they were more likely to do heinous things. To them if the American Dream wasnt worth it then anything goes

I think we evolve within any endeavor. If I was a millionaire I’d have 1 of each type of Harley, Panhead, Shovelhead, EVO, M8, 😄 but seriously I want to explore more on dirt and out of traffic, but yet take more long road trips on back roads. Multiple bikes? Change bikes? Rent a bike to try out a new style? Do nothing. It’s all about the experience, and quantity isn’t the same as quality. Ride what you interested in to places you’re interested in.

Where I had lived, I had a Suzuki cruiser (C109R) and a few times would ride with a small group with some of those people riding Harley's. In time, I found out that the "hard core" Harley riders wouldn't ride with me due to the fact that I had a Japanese bike. I ended up riding solo. In that area, the vast majority of HD riders, went to certain bars and only rode with certain groups. Bar hoping was what most did and of course their once a year Strurgis trips. Fair or not, I found the majority of HD riders to be total jerks. The stereotypical HD rider: Leathers, rocker panels, tough rough looking (same for women), hard core die or ride to me became laughable. I'm 61 now and bought a Honda Africa Twin. I think you can sell an image only so long.

Thank you! I preferred the softail standard to the all blacked out Street Bob. So the direction they moved to fits my preference. I own a snake venom sportster, bought it because of that color. I like their custom paint schemes. You see less of these models out in the wild so you stand out. My exception is vivid black with red badging, otherwise I typically choose the premium paint offering.
