Excellent video, Just installed 12" KST Bison Bagger bars on my 2024 Street Glide. Using this video and KST's install video I was able to install my bars without having to remove the fairing. Also, KST has amazing service and quality products. Thanks to Brandon for his help and quick responses to my questions. One of the best detailed videos on youtube and I can also say the same about KST's install videos.

I need to change my stock bars…how much did you pay
@2WheelMotoJourney
@2WheelMotoJourney Ай бұрын
@@alexquevedo831 Depends on the bars you purchase, Check out KST Kustoms website for bar cost. I purchased the 12" Bison Bagger bars for my 24 Street GLide which were $555.00 which includes a new clutch cable that is needed for the install for 12". I could have purchased a clutch cable exention which for approx $115.00 but elected to get the new cable which has better parts than the stock cable. I also purchased the bars pre-wired which were $135.00 and well worth the cost, if you have ever threaded wires through bars before you know what Im talking about. Due to Brandons Harley video I saved a ton on labor cost. Harley quoted me $900.00 for the install and also had a local motorcycle shop quote me $500.00 Hope this helps. Right now KST is having a Black Friday Sale, so you can save a few dollars.

Do you meed any wire or clutch cable extensions???
@2WheelMotoJourney
@2WheelMotoJourney 8 күн бұрын
@@checko703 Yes I did with the 12" bars, Kst offers a really nice braided clutch cable or you will need to purchase their extension. I purchased the cable instead of the extension. Its a much better part and replaces the plastic clip type cable wire that comes stock. Also, if you just buy the extension you have to reshape the hard stock cable, which does not seem to be a problem for most. The new cable was only a few dollars more and is worth the upgrade. Hope this helps.

Great video. I changed the bar on my 24 Street Glide to the Tall Boy using this video as a reference and it went very well. The only problem that I had was getting the throttle side electrical cable through the new bar. I would love to know how you did it since that was not covered in your video. Thanks!
@BrandonsHarley

I push weed eater/trimmer line through the bar then use electrical tape to attach it to the wires. Then just pull it through the bar. You can also put some wire lubricant over the tape to make it slide around the bends easier.

You will not need to remove the fairing if you are just adjusting the bars. Just remove the media tray and loosen the two lower bolts. Adjust bars then tighten them to spec.

@BrandonsHarley
@BrandonsHarley 6 ай бұрын
You can still replace the clutch cable and brake line this way. You just remove the p-clip retainers from the top of the triple tree and it will free up the lines to be replaced. There is one retainer for the brake line, and one for the clutch cable. You will need to have a right angle T27 (like an Allen wrench, but a Torx) to get the bolts out. There is not enough room to get a T27 socket in there. For 12” bars, you do not need to replace either line. Removing the p-clips from the triple tree gives enough slack.

I swapped out my stock bars today for the HD Tall Boy handlebars. Unfortunately with the 2023.5 CVO, you can't swap out the bars this way as there is a metal bar preventing you from manipulating the handlebars as shown on the 2024 in this video. I ended up removing the inner faring and accomplished the task. Thanks for the video as it inspired me to take on the swap on myself!
@BrandonsHarley
@BrandonsHarley 4 ай бұрын
I’m intrigued by why you couldn’t do it this way as there is no difference between the 2023.5 CVO and the 2024 SG. I’m not sure what you’re calling a metal bar that’s in the way. Could you point it out in this video? These are the tallboy bars shown in this video.
@stevenicolle1598
@stevenicolle1598 4 ай бұрын
@@BrandonsHarley There actually is a difference around the key lock. I took a picture of it on my bike so I could show how this bar with a metal prong on each end prevents the bars from being manipulated. However, I don't see how I can add it to this thread.

Did you install the harley tallboy handlebars. Also did you have to extend the brake line and clutch cable?
@BrandonsHarley
@BrandonsHarley 3 ай бұрын
I installed the Harley Tallboy handlebars. Thankfully, there is plenty of clutch cable and brake hose available, so extensions were not needed. I did remove the two p-clip retainers on top of the triple tree for each of those lines to give a little more slack. There are other people who left that alone and had no issue. The wiring for the hand controls is very long and could easily accommodate a handlebar up to 14 inches.

New Sub here, going to install KST 12" Bison bars on my 24 Street Glide standard. Question, its my understanding that you can remove the p-clips from the triple tree holding the brake and clutch cable with a right angle T27 standard lenght or (extra long) correct? Without removing the entire fairing correct? Also, Im a little confused KST is telling me you need to purchase a longer clutch cable or a fat baggers extension if you use the stock clutch cable, for the clutch cable to reach and work correctly. Can you clarify this for me please. It would be great not to have to remove the entire fairing. Thanks in advance, great great video.
@BrandonsHarley
@BrandonsHarley 2 ай бұрын
Yes, a right angle torx will do the trick removing the p-clips, that is what I used. As far as using the stock brake and clutch lines, it depends on the height of your bars. I did not have to change anything when I installed Harley Tallboy bars, which are about 2” taller than stock (about 11”). You will need to check yours when you install the bars. You will not need to remove the whole fairing if you follow this video, even if you need to swap clutch lines.
