Simple economics and geographical location already places Taiwan on its clear path and solution u add in the history of Taiwan since its discovery and occupation by the Ming dynasty establish Taiwan as part of China. Taiwan should be allowed to run the country like Singapore but NOT to declare independent. NOT to allow foreign military bases in Taiwan. China on the other hand should signed a treaty NOT to invade Taiwan and resume normal economic ties and other mutual benefits with Taiwan. This will ease that tensions and in the decades to come China WILL benefit more, otherwise Taiwan will drifts towards the West eventually instead of drifting to become part of China. With times, a bonsai plant/tree can bent to shape in loving and careful measures. It breaks if excessive sudden forces are used.

If Taiwan is not careful it will be the next Ukraine where its being used to fight China while the the US and the West demand Taiwan to fight to the last Taiwanese. The west doesn't care about Taiwan, they are only using it to antagonise and undermine China. Incredible.....I was not aware that America had moved from North America to Asia. I didnt know countries could pick themselves up and move to other continents. I would think that Chinese matters between Chinese people (ethnically, culturally, and linguistically) should be between Chinese people. Also....if a foreign government of a foreign country can order your prized industry (TSMC) to stop doing business with your largest trading partner....and that impacts your economy and thus the standards of living of your people......then that government is not your friend. That's gangster style blackmail. Because that order serves their interests. Not the interests of Taiwan or its people. Friends do not order their friends to do things against their own self interests. If the people of Taiwan think that's normal or acceptable then they have a seriously messed up idea of what a "friend" is. I think Singapore's General George Yeo's suggestion of a Chinese Commonwealth between China and Taiwan makes the most sense to me. This way, you have 2 countries 2 systems. President Xi has opened this door in their last meeting in Singapore. The current status quo between China and Taiwan is a ticking time bomb but the problem is, the DPP Constitution is against this suggestion. It is certainly much better than the US making Taiwan their second Ukraine, considering the state of Ukraine right now.
