Toyota Hilux Champ, Toyota Tamaraw or Toyota Hilux IMV-0 is a light commercial vehicle sitting below regular Hilux. I really want this in the US, things I would do to get a 2.0L NA manual of this. Knowing the US the most common spec would prob be a some 4 banger turbo with an auto but I would still pick one up in a heartbeat.

The production base for this small truck is in Indonesia and Thailand targeting South American and Asian countries that use Euro 4 & 5 diesel engines, if this truck enters the United States market it is certain Chevrolet Ford GMC would mind that cheap small trucks from Japan would flood the American market

I would like to see a tach, oil pressure and engine temp gauges. those are important in a work vehicles, by the time the idiot light goes off, damage may be done. those three gauges are useful for assessing engine performance health.

2 door commuter. Rear leg room eats into battery space, so get rid of the back seat for better cargo. GM could have thrown a modern lithium battery in the EV-1 and sold to people who actually wanted electric cars instead of creating vehicles that will be in the junkyard in 10 years.

Man... this with a utility body, ladder/pipe racks would be a wicked setup for the trades workers. Toyota definitely should bring like this to North America & get into the work vehicle/van market with this thing. It's all Big 3 except for Nissan. I think this would shake the game up here, fully loaded work vehicle built to spec for under 30K$ CAD would be a steal in this market where its 50-60k for a brand new base model truck or van. I'd be shocked if we ever got one here though, big 3 are going to lobby the government to make damn sure this thing never comes near here, one can dream though.
