This vehicle is just what we need in every country. Modern vehicles have become far too big and too laden down with expensive and unnecessary gimmicks. All you need is power steering, a powerful heater and a good radio and speakers. I have owned and loved a Mazda and a Toyota pickup in the past but the modern ones are ridiculous. I now have a 24 year old Renault Kangoo and I would not swap it for any luxury car.

Finally a real Work Truck for us that do not want leather heated seats and carpet for $50k and up. In mid 70's a stripper van was cheapest vehicle on lot. A passenger seat was extra. Then next cheapest was a plain old pick up truck with rubber on floor and a bench seat. The price of a work van is north of $50k, which is ridicule's.

Yup, Car manufacturers are missing the boat on no frills, I drive older simple vehicles because of the simplicity, my work car is a 23 Outback that 7 out of 10 times the electronics fails to connect to my phone, I buy cheap Bluetooth connectors off Amazon for the older cars that connect 100 percent of the time. They can keep the bells and whistles, I want simple and cheap. A Shame we'll never see this truck in the US for $10k, but it shows manufacturers can certainly make a cheaper vehicles for the common folk.

I am 62 and figured the vehicle I have now would be the last and I would drive it till it ain't no more. I refuse to buy a new vehicle because they are overpriced with bells and whistles I never use. Toyota is on the right track here and I would definitely consider another vehicle if I could get something basic. I can afford more but I don't want more .. just the fact that Toyota is even thinking along these lines make me want to support them. Good on them.

Looks like something out of an anime...wierd styling but the concept of a no frills basic truck is spot on. No thrilled about a turbo-diesel power plant but not unusual for a diesel engine in most of the world. Obviously not designed with the USA in mind and I doubt we will ever see it here and even if we did it would be stupid expensive for what it is..
