LOVE IT. BUT please bring back the horizontally-split rear tail-gate. So sensible, so practical, so convenient. In fact ALL MPVs , SUVs and station wagons/estate cars should also have it.

This is not a replacement for the 200/300 series which is still sold worldwide (just not here in North America) this is a redesign of the 150 LandCruiser Prado (Lexus GX 460)

My only complaint is the lack of E KDSS. My 2012 4Runner trail has kdss and it makes a huge difference for driving on and off road. The sway bar disconnect is half of a kdss system. Otherwise I absolutely love what they did with the vehicle and brought us the LC Prado.

Interesting point I didn't think about. Thr 4 runner had kdss as an option. Wonder if the new 4 runner will not since the land cruiser does not. Or maybe it will be optional by production time. I know some love kdss and some do not. Its harder and cost more to do suspension mods with it. So if they do offer it I hope it's optional like on the current 4 runner so those that do want it can get it and those that don't do not have to.

The platform consolidation is disappointing. LC300, LX600, GX550, and the upcoming 4runner all the same wheelbase. Add the Sequoia, Tundra... all are on the same TNGAF platform as you mentioned. Toyota "sold out" the Landcruiser name here... I will posist that the full-time 4WD is the one and only true Landcruiser feature here... The full-time 4WD is primarily for ON-road as you have all 4 wheels going for snow, rain etc on road.

Yep its no longer what a land cruiser once was. But it will be a gold mine for toyota as it has the name, some class, and new found affordability. It will be a huge seller. And I'm glad they still gave it some off road potential. But like the current gen tacoma and 4 runner, the name land cruiser will never be the same.

I was reading some news in Japan and I saw that they will have the option of 4cyl. 2.8 Diesel Turbo engine. That will be great option to get rid of the Hybrid “green” stuff. Hope that some time in the US could be imported with this diesel engine.

That's would be awesome unfortunately us epa restrictions won't let toyota diesels over here. The hilux in a diesel would be amazing too. But we can't have it here

Great video-Im glade I purchased a 2023 40th year 4Runner-like the land cruiser lost the spit tail gate ,I believe the 4Runner is going to loose the iconic up and down rear window-time will tell

The 23 4 runner will go down in history as the best 4 runner ever made in my opinion and the last 500k mile last for ever suv. I'm excited to see the new one but expecting to be a little disappointed.

Dont forget these land cruisers that the North American market is getting is the land cruiser prado not the actual land cruiser. The 300 series series land cruiser is the real land cruiser so comparing the 80, 100, and 200 series land cruiser to the new prado is not a fair comparison.

You are 100% correct. Reason I did compare thr 200 series to this is because of the land cruiser name and its reputation. When people think land cruiser they think the 100 or 200 series mostly. Most have never heard of the Prado. But you are 100% correct.

Well there you go! Sounds like it's perfect for you. I wouldn't want the 3rd row seat either. Never said I did. But the roof rack is deal breaker for me. If no easy way to put a roof rack on it I won't own it. I can not have a suv with out a roof rack.

@@SamkoWorkShop I live in Florida this LC would be a perfect fit for my lifestyle. I don’t need a roof rack or 3rd row seat because I need space to carry my tool, pull a small fishing boat or fishing kayak on the weekend and take my family for out of state road trip a few time a year

I’m a engineer so I must stop you in the stiffness of the BOF vehicles. 😂 They are not and are heavier than unibody for the same stiffness. Imagine an I-beam in housing. the taller it is, the stiffer and lighter it can be. Obviously BOF have some benefits in terms of off-reading, especially for modifications.

I hope I said it right (didn't go back and look) but I meant the unibody is stiffer and more prone to flex damage if articulated too often. If I said it wrong I apologize.

I had a unibody suv (volvo xc90) . Every time i passed my garage bump in diagonal that car squeaked . I sold it when the turbo exploded (in ‘21 being a 2017 model). I now have a ‘21 4 runner …. It laughs (and me also) with that bump. Theory is just that, theory.

I just can’t understand the meaning of 4 bangers with mild hybrid 🤡🤦🏻 seriously dump idea ! This vehicle will sure consume same if not more feul than 4.0L. Add the cost of hybrid maintenance like battery coolant hoses for turbos and hybrid system, it was shown in the stage the chassis only with engine and hybrid system, and that was super scary the amount of hoses pipes wires. People sucked in the LC hype with almost 3 tons with camry motor

Just watched another video where toyota is expecting 27mpg out of this land cruiser. I would never of expected that. The numbers are not official yet. But if they can pull that off it will be a big bonus for them. Agree with you that I'm not a fan of the hybrid.

they made it full time 4x4 because most People dont know how to use a real 4 by 4. They try to switch it at 90mph. Most People dont know how to read the manual

lc 250 / prado .lc1958, GX 550 overtrail , no 3rd row, like it better than the $80k msrp if one can get it sequoia TRD pro , its more 3 row luxury car ,as its 3rd row takes up to much space when folded, we would of bought LC200 if it was more utilitarian than. the top top trim spec, 3 row luxury car @$90k other markets get base models LC300 auz $ is $100k start about $75k US$ we pay that for broncos wrangler, defenders

toyota., Lexus , 2/4dr wrangler ,bronco ,mb G wagon only ones left with a solid rear axel ,rest have a indpendt rear axel for a smooth ride and leg room for the 3d row , new ineos granader has soild ft and rear
