Couple of things I will add. Is that the 2.7t is designed to be a truck engine. Its also the most reliable engine in the Silverado/Sierra engine lineup that utilizes the DFM or AFM system. On top of that, the ZR2 competes in the Vegas to Reno Desert Run race. It has proven to tow up to 9000 lbs in the heavier Silverado. Which 7700 max tow shouldn't be much of a problem. My only problem is that they should of added the 10 spd. This would have made it a very capable 4 cylinder truck.

For towing it’s better to have less gears, but if performance is what you want the 10 speed is better. They made it a all rounder that most will like.

​@@apexcapital1328less gears have never been better for towing....ever. Lowering the gear ratio and increasing the number of gears is better for towing. Big rigs have a minimum of 10 speeds and up to 18. Having more gears allows tuning to keep the engine in its optimal power band. An 18 speed big rig can tow loads a 10 speed wouldn't be able to move. When it comes down to trucks, go watch TFL gauntlet tow tests. Every single truck with the 10 speed transmission outperforms previous models with less gears while getting better MPG.

You also can get hydrolic jounce stops in the Colorado. So, thats a win for both trucks. Also, why compare the most off-road spec's payload to a regular 2dr cab truck and call it "lackluster"? FYI, the regular model's payload is 1,580 iba and tow up to 7,700 lbs.

Just picked up a 2023 Tacoma sport with six foot bed and l love it and l am big on quality and reliability. Despite some negative points by journalists I feel the truck has plenty of power l don’t need to be the first at the next intersection inside l am comfortable the ride is quite and smooth, I get why they out sell there competitors.

Uh wrong, I gave 36k for my 2018 ZR2 and comparison shopping shows many of them on the market between 37k to 39k. Does not look like I have lost a dime.
