I saw one of those Trucks - the TRD, crew cab 4WD, etc in a parking lot two days ago here in South Carolina, USA. It was a beautiful deep dark blue color. Such a nice looking truck. I would have asked the owner how it was but he or she was nowhere around. I live in a horse town so there are a lot, lot, lot of nice big pickups here. I drive a 1999 F250 SuperDuty 4WD 7.3L diesel, so I fit in OK, but many fancier bigger trucks here too. Silly me, I was so surprised to see it, I forgot to look closer and see how it was setup for towing. Truck was bigger than I expected; shows camera doesn't always do justice. Really beautiful truck, all the proportions, etc. I had a truck stolen several years ago I haven't replaced yet, and based on your info, this one is definitely one I'll check out. Thank you.

I have seen a few of your videos now, and the 1 thing I havn't seen you talk about is the back window, do you ever use it? (I might not have seen the video yet if you have talked about it.)

Yeah I love it. But once I install my fuel cell I won’t really be able to use it because the diesel fumes will come in the cab.

The Tundra did well for its first tow. Agree you need to get it lifted, or load leveling. Looks like for your lighter towing though, it will do the job well.

I don't have air bags on my gmc but, I do use an equalizing hitch and that works out extremely well ! Just something to think about. Thanks for the vid! Be well !

Gooseneck hitch for the Tundra coming up the new rig to tow the 80s around lol. The new half tons have more capacity than a 3/4 ton from the 90s. A mild lift to give it a little more stance, bigger tires, beef up the rear suspension a little. A triaxle trailer at 10,000lb gross you'd notice it behind your Tundra a lot of tire scrub with 6 tires on the ground especially on a hot day.

Looking forward to following your Tundra changes. Maybe some comment or discussion of why no hybrid. SR5 not an option and you wanted a work truck? Why not with your wife’s? Interested about the level vs Sumo vs airbags choice. Great practical advice channel. Nice to see the snow… none here in S TX.

When you put larger tires on, will you be able recalibrate your Speedo?

Curious what your payload sticker is on that tundra. Also Id love to see how this does with like a 25'-27' travel trailer

Wanted to know if either of your 2024 Tundras came w/ the "Rear Air Suspension" for towing .Looking at 24' Tundra Limited 5.5' Crewmax,TRD pkg. w/ Iforce V6 , window stickers and cant get info if this a standard option on the Limited or TRD pkg. , let me know if either of your Tundras came w/ it or if you heard of anything about it. Thanks
@T_8153510 ай бұрын
It is not standard but an add on package. TRD off road is a different package. Can't have both tho as far as I know because one package is for off-road suspension and the other basically towing suspension. Both are available for the limited trim if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the input , I would think the TRD pkg . w/ the better Billstein shocks & other components would be more than enough to tow a 22' travel trailer w/o any sagging or pulling issues. I've towed this trailer w/ my 15' Chevy Silverado LT w/ 5.3L with no problem & this Tundra Limited CrewMax V6 IForce that I plan on getting has more HP & torque than my Silverado has. Thanks again.

That RV in your driveway is nicely paired for that tundra
I don’t know how long you plan on keeping that truck but I’d like to see the long term durability of that turbo engine ?

Nice truck, tows good, but for how long. I feel like a 3/4 ton gas with a less complacated engine for work might be better for the long haul.

Why are you not pulling with a skid steer on the Tundra? I have a Tundra and I pull it with a gooseneck trailer.

I run sumo springs on my tundras they never leak and eliminate squat when I tow my 32' tt They are worth a shot i think they are $300 and they just replace the bump stocks
@dalegereaux186310 ай бұрын
Over 10 MPG is not bad for towing a big trailer like that. It will be interesting to see what it does after the upgrades you are planning. If you do the next test after the upgrades and it's not winter weather, do you think that will have any effect on the comparison ?

Repetitive use is what will tell the tale. A test ride is ok...but that constant use is the key. Although as you stated, it is not what you'll use it for.
