Toyota just released the Toyota Yaris Cross, and it's set to be in between the Raize and the Corolla Cross. Let's take its top-of-the-line S Hybrid variant out for a spin.

Thanks! I got the dark turquoise blue. For other interested buyers, that color is a dust magnet. Better to set an appointment for ceramic coating immediately.

As usual, great video. I’ve been waiting for this since its release. With regards to color, V only has 1 two-tone (Scarlet/Black) and the rest are monotone.

Yes. Almost no minimum. It can follow even at crawling speed

The only I like about this Daihatsu Yaris Cross is its exterior design especially at the rear and the Toyota safety sense. If only they priced this at maximum of 1.4m it will really be sulit. Not impressed with its NVH as you can hear from the background.

Yes.1.6M for TOTL. But add 300k plus you can go for Hybrid zenix.. 1.4M is the good price for TOTL of yaris cross hybrid. It will sell like hot cake. They priced it at 1.6M and they stop selling zenix for the mean time. Toyota said zenix hybrid will be available in 6 months or more. They want people to buy yaris cross hybrid before they sell zenix hybrid in the market 😅. Not sulit for 1.6M. Though TOTL is nice. It’s marketing.

​@rentero0329 Crazy to think about how expensive maintaining a hybrid could be in the long run. If you're using a hybrid for daily driving, it will take you about 4 to 5 years to breakeven with its fuel savings...half of the battery's lifespan.

@inzane456 actually the hybrid system of this car has no additional maintenance cost, same pms of an ice vehicle, actually I am quite happy to own one, maybe you are thinking i’m quite bias, but believe me it’s not a slouch vehicle, the instant torque given by the electric motor is quite good though its not as quick as fully electric vehicle like nissan kicks. But the fuel consumption of this car is phenomenal, it cost me about 2300 pesos for a 1200km trip! Insane right! Averaging 26km/L, if you are averaging lets say 16km/L from a ICE engine like V variant you will break even the additional cost of hev variant at 85,714 km without considering the price increase of gasoline 56 pesos. After that its up to you if you want to keep the car or not, noted that after that period you will save about 1900 pesos per 1200km, ok lets include battery degradation lets say you save 1200pesos per 1000km not bad at all

Have you tried the horn while driving? I noticed it was louder than I expected so I checked under the hood and guess what, of the horns is right below the airbox facing slightly towards the driver. I don't know what the purpose is but this is the first I've seen. :D

Believe me it’s not anemic at all.. remember you have electric motor that gives instant torque that helps the engine, I own one and it has better acceleration than my 2.0 ICE car and I am quite surprised if I compare it from the specs sheet 😅

That's the whole point of the Atkinson Cycle 4 stroke ICE engine, efficiency and long service life. Toyota had a distinct goal here, and achieved it rather well.
