Great job , Mike! You’re the perfect madman for this test. I’m now 70 and ride a 22 GT Pro out here in Idaho when there’s more dirt than pavement. I run the Bridgestone AX41s and stick to dirt roads. You inspire me to get after it but my wife tells me “one more trip to the emergency room and I’m leaving’. I’ll still try to pick up the tempo in the spring, though. Thanks for your time.

Although this sort of riding has never really been my thing, despite doing exactly this as a kid on the farm, before I was old enough to take my test, I sort of get a kick out of watching it on here, and even more so, as this was done in Wales. I've ridden the Roman road, although, I'm a novice at off roading, it scared the S**T out of me! The down hill, rocky section, at the end is really scary! Fair play Mike, that was impressive riding. This is a great video Mike and Kate. Good stuff. I’m looking for a bigger bike again. You know my story. I had the Africa twin. I couldn’t hold it. I have three slipped disk. So I dropped to the crf 300l. It’s a great bike. But when riding with the big bikes it’s outdone. So I’m look for bigger. And I need comfort. This bike is only 50kg lighter than the Africa Twin. But really. How good is that ground clearance ? It’s a great cc for road. Where as others such as the tenure 7 isn’t. I suppose I could only go and test ride one ? But they don’t allow off road 😂

I would never intentionally take a beautiful Tiger 1200 onto a muddy road, or in the rain. I would keep it polished like a trophy. Also, I would never buy a powerful motorcycle just to ride it at 5 mph on a dirt trail. A lightweight, 450 cc scrambler, or rally can do that, for a lot less money.

@ one easy exercise she gave me was to write a capital letter E on paper about 4” high, stick it to a plain wall at eye level, stand a meter back from it, then move my head steadily side to side whilst keeping my eyes fixed on the letter, this has kept it away or I’ve just been lucky and it hasn’t returned.
