Fritz is a very attractive player to watch with loads of talent. On his day, he can beat anybody except Novak against whom he is 0-9 and struggled to even take sets.
@sanjay-ul8lchАй бұрын
Nick you are great you are the only one that predicted Sinner to win in 3 sets others predicted Sinner in 4 or 5 sets some even predicted Draper to win . There is one great tennis pundit in you tube who actually didn't pick Sinner in the top 4 favourites pre tournament .
@edwardyparkАй бұрын
Great commentary Nick. Thank you. Loving also the breakdown of some of the pros fundamentals / style. Would you consider doing one on Fritz? What makes his serve so good? Also, interestingly, I notice he chicken wings his backhand often where his left elbow raises as he swings through the stroke and follows-though. Is that style?

After a VERY fortunate run playing against Rank 39 to 74 opposition except for 1 obviously injured player now it's Sinner - a VERY different level of opponent. The curtains are coming down on this tournament for Jack Draper.

Hey Nik, did You see that statistic,which shows,that the player who hit the fastest top spin forehand in the USO so far (among men and women) is… Sabalenka?Both Sinner and Alcaraz were listed below her,which blew my mind.

Say what? de Minaur doesn't have what it takes?? He's the Road Runner with grit and determination. Great player who should never be under estimated.
@maximilianschulz6524Ай бұрын
But you have to agree that there are players, who are almost as good as Alex in terms of covering a court, but at the same time have a decent attacking game. Look at Carlos, Jannik, Novak and even Medvedev. It is almost as tough to hit a ball past them as it is against Alex. However those guys are able to dictate play and force errors from you, which is an area where Alex lacks ability... Nevertheless he is still a top ten player, which is deserved. But to enter the top five he needs a big weapon apart from his speed
@ada5851Ай бұрын
Nowhere in the video did he say that. He was defending De Minaur against people saying he doesn't deserve to be in the top 10. He said DeMinaur has his own tools that make him dangerous even if he doesn't have the same weapons as other guys in the top 10.
@bobbyfischerman4811Ай бұрын

It’s funny because most counted out Draper against De Minaur, he demolished him and now it’s “De Minaur is probably still injured” why can’t the majority of tennis fans just accept they get most of their predictions wrong.
@cybernetennisАй бұрын
Zverev's wake him up at 3am and still hot a good backhand was a direct quote from Boris Becker during I think the Wimbledon 2019 final commenting on Djokovic saying that exact same thing.. I was like Zverev you can't even come up with a quote of your own...
@KyleVeverka7Ай бұрын
You interpet too much into it, it’s a usual sports quote, heard that in football and soccer and of course tennis a dozen times. No need to hate on Zverev.
@joshcharlat850Ай бұрын
"Hate on" is awful. In this case an exageration. And it's starting to be overused maybe.
@michael8597Ай бұрын
Draper, if he plays his 'A' game has a great chance to beat Sinner. I think Fritz will sail through to finals.
@cliveburksАй бұрын
Fritz doesn’t move as well as the other top men’s players otherwise his game is very good.
@maximilianschulz6524Ай бұрын
That's true, but he has a great serve and a powerful forehand to compensate for a lot. However I agree that his movement is what stops him from being top five

De Minaur, was pulling up tight on a many points he was playing in pain in the third set, he is too much of a gentleman of the sport to admit he was injured and that played a part in the loss instead he gave cryptic answers in the news conference. I fell gutted for him!
@soysaucehairdye7869Ай бұрын
One thing that should be noted is that Sinner has played a total of 4 matches against left handers this year which is low in constrast to say a Zverev. With Draper being such a great left handed server, he stands a real potential to pull off an upset if he brings good serve variety on Friday and his return game is on fire. The final I want to see is Draper vs Fritz. That would be an extremely competitive and entertaining final where both players have a 50 50 shot at winning the title. Draper almost had Fritz at the Olympics, but Fritz battled from 40 love down and held his serve in a game that went on for like 16 minutes in the second set and that was the momentum swing that won Fritz the match against Draper at the Olympics.
@fwvw7056Ай бұрын
Sinner is very good on both wings, can change direction etc. So Draper being left won't bother him as much as for other players.
@soysaucehairdye7869Ай бұрын
@@fwvw7056 yeah two of his wins were against Ben Shelton, but I still have hope for Draper.

@giorgioc6765Ай бұрын
Thanks Nik, your picks are mine as well. A couple remarks about Zverev and De Minaur: the first makes me absolutely freak out, because physically and technically he's nearly perfect and could be unbeatable, but for some reasons he always manage to hijack himself. He doesn't seem to have the mental strength to consistently manage a 5 sets match, and I'm starting to think he'll never have. He's an expert player and at this point he should have learned. About the Aussie, at first I was thinking the same, because until last year I kept seeing him being beaten hard by the Top10 players and looking hopeless. But this year he has made huge steps forward, and he showed a weapon that not everybody on tour owns: BRAINS! He's such an intelligent player, that he can use his fast legs and his precision to play in a clinical way. Of course if his legs fail him a little, moreover against a powerful and talented player like Draper, he's going to be treated like a ragdoll, and he has. But to me he belongs in the Top10 (maybe not in the Top5, but I think he can live with it) more than, say, a FAA, who's powerful and skillful but very monodimensional
@greensky9530Ай бұрын
I just don't see a universe sinner loses to fritz. Tiafoe has the peak level to possibly beat him, but if sinner beats draper he is the HEAVY favorite against either of them

Tough to see Sinner losing the title itself, but assuming it can happen, Fritz is the best player right now. I'm rooting for Tiafoe. It's a shame Medvedev played Sinner in QFs. Draper needs to play 50x better than he did til now to make it harder to Sinner, not even talking about to beat Sinner.
@MrJiggy80Ай бұрын
Unless Draper pulls the biggest upset against Sinner, regardless of whether TFOE or FRTZ goes through, Sinner will take the title on Sunday. It'll still be epic SF finals. Taylor has been tested, Berrettini, Ruud and Zverev on route....most likely Fritz in 4/5. Also, the H2H is 6-1 for Fritz.
@marlenebuls9535Ай бұрын
I think Zverev may have had some trouble with his blood sugar level during this USOpen. He intimated as much- he had some physical ailment- virus? . He didn't look well at times - low energy. However, Fritz did play a very consistent game and served well DeMinaur beat a compromised Djokovic at the United Cup . The next time they played, Djokovic won .

Love you, but you gotta start being more critical (in an honest way) when it comes to these professional analysis videos. It’s ok to point out a guys flaws. Fritz is not a great mover, although he’s worked on it and has improved, his athleticism compared to the other Americans is far less in terms of natural movement. Fritz is by far the most self confident and that’s why he is where he is imo, the other Americans lack that. Thanks for the content

yes they got rid of novak & zverev by giving them late night matches that would screw with their body clocks. Now it is boring. Sinner is so tedious cold & mechanical. Meddy is crebral too but loads of fun witty & real same as Zverev. They thought they would get an alcaraz final with Sinner distract Sinner wiyh phoney drug charges. Instead Carlos beat himself waiting for dutchman to make mistakes. Well Taylor is a great player but Sinner & taylor make for not too much fun final. This is what happens when a sport outcome is manipulated & back fires. Hope Fritz can wil highly unlikely . Go Taylor,

Interesting how you analyse it and thank you for the nice video. I don't think any of the four are real champions. All of them are playing a good tournament here and are playing above their level and are benefiting from the fact that Alcaraz/Djokovic are out. I don't see Sinner as a champion after the strange doping story. One of them will win. For me, a boring US Open. That's my opinion as a layman/tennis fan. I'm looking forward to the next video. Best wishes
