I feel like most of us 3.5 up to 4.5 get confused with overload info on which raquet to pick. But it's important to say it. The raquet is not the one keeping you from reaching the next level, is the FUNDAMENTALS. I own the Pure Aero 100 and tried the 98v blade so I get the really notorious differences between them but if you can't U Turn, if you don't have the footwork pinned down, if you can't use your full body to execute shots. Most of the time it's you. Not A Raquet. Best tennis channel ever.

Enjoyed this review - thorough, engaging, loved how you differentiated between the racquet's effect on your game and your own inputs. Just bought a Percept 100 (have been playing with it for a week now - so not sure why I'm still watching videos of it, other than the fact I love it!) It's just brilliant, I feel like a much improved player since picking it up, even though that's obviously nonsense. The feel of it is great, it's forgiving yet when you hit the real sweet spot it feels incredible. I've possibly lost a tiny bit of power on my serve, but the control and movement has massively improved (so overall net-gain for me at serve time too).

Great review Nick. Your exceptional on explaining things and your thought processes in real time in pressure situations. I love how you differentiate your footwork mistakes vs racquet mistake and how your ego as an advanced player doesn’t sway you towards the smallest heaviest racquet. Even elite players like you recognize forgiveness and benefits of a larger head and lighter racquet. I agree Yonex grips are the best for 2 handed backhands. My 2 hander improved immediately with the Ezone 100 and I attribute some of it to the longer grip. Good luck with your final test.

Nije loš, nije. Super reketi! I’m currently testing the 100D (18x19). Am planning to replace my VcorePro 97HD from 2019, I need a bit more power and forgiveness. The Percept 97D has a bit more power than my current ditto (RA 4-5 points higher) but it produces more vibrations and slicing is not as good. The 100D is pretty good - good power, control and forgivness, well balanced and stable. I suggest you try that one too if you haven’t already. My almost 14 year old son tried it too and confiscated it, he fell in love with it straight away. It was noticeable from the first strike, he had me running and couldn’t miss the ball, it was a completely different game compared to when he uses his Speed MP. I think it’s a great tweener racquet and for teens that have developed their game and need more control.

I’ve been using 100D for 8 months and love it. Virtually no issues with it. I’m a 4.5, and hit “big” and often flatter. It responds really well and allows me to take big enough cuts while also keeping balls in and does great on defensive short swings too. I am using Yonex Poly Tour Rev strings at 53. I find this racket needs a bit higher tension because it’s already so plush and soft on contact.
@deverenfogle3201Ай бұрын
97D is a cheat code though. If you really like to have laser accuracy, it's amazing. It's certainly harder to hit if you're used to more open patterns. But once you adjust for it, you can hit any shot with it.
@shawnogg82082 ай бұрын
Correct decision. You need the stiffness. Beef the 100 up a little for serve and backhand and you are there. Suits your game perfectly also in the aspect that keeping a good level of movement will not get any easier, no matter what. I had a similar experience as a youngster when I got the Andres Gomez-Yonex. Was ahead of time then. Only drawback with the security it gives you is in finishing points really decisive on offense but you get used to choose slightly bigger targets or play one more shot where the opponent can’t get out anyway.

If they made a + version, I think it would be perfect. They have a Vcore 100+, but it is slightly softer and heavier. I will say when testing Yonex, I was amazed at how they felt larger than the head size and even off center hits still made it back across the net. In the end I wound up with a Blade 104 V8 as it just suited my game better. Much softer and helps keep my flat ball inside the court while still allowing for the occasional heavy topspin and slice serve.

@chrisc24392 ай бұрын
Ya I get it. I would just submit that the 18*19 on the precept 100d is not as tight as an 18*20 on other racquets and gives you more spin potential. It's probably similar to the spin potential on the Wilson shift 99 non pro version. i have been hitting with 18*20s for over a decade and it definitely hampers my spin, but i got significantly more spin/launch angle with the 100d without compromising much control. can't say the same when i've switched between ultra pro 18*20 and ultra pro 16*19 by comparison. the 18x20 version of ultra pro gives much more control but at the significant cost of spin/launch angle. this is not the case with the percept 100/100d IMO. the 100d, i believe, is actually a different racquet. it's balanced differently -- more head light. makes it easier to whip the ball or create crafty shots or quickly react at net, etc etc.

Hey Nik which racket do you think is a logical step for someone who uses the 2016 model of the Head Extreme Pro? I’ve been thinking about the Vcore 98 and the Pure Aero but since racket testing isn’t an option in my area idk which is better suited for me
