Love my new metanium dc only issue I have with is how easy it dings up and scratches mine look like a 3 year old reel after two weeks of fishing

Oh boy! I keep my fishing gear in tip top shape. Reel cover always goes on if I’m not using the reel.

Would you choose the DC or MGL for more power fishing lures around 3/8 - 1oz.
@ChewyThaoFishing8 ай бұрын
Many options to choose from when fishing 3/8oz to 1oz... I am a big fan of the Exsence DC and i would pick that reel to handle 3/8oz-1oz any day. The reel is just more stout compared to the Metanium's. However, the 15 Met DC or MGL will give you the line capacity you need to bomb 1oz lures. The 24 Met DC would work, but i believe the line capacity in the 15 DC and Met B will work better when talking about Metaniums.

Replacing the pinion and main gear in the 9 year old metanium would eliminate the mechanical feel.

Dude my poison adrena snapped in 2 yesterday. Right above the first guide. If 1 of my exprides breaks I'm switching to Loomis.

Oh man! Curious - how did it break?

With all due respect because the video is Great...that older MetaniumDC is going to have some play..hense the extra sounds and feel. Given your testing shows the 2024 model casts at least as far if not more...that's a huge PLUS given the 2024's 70 size palmability. They feel amazing IN HAND - peace! 😎🤟 - 613BASS'N

Thanks for watching! Agreed on the extra sounds and feel. Its the way its designed, not a flaw in the reel. Tight lines!

DC reels rock I love my 2017 scorpion dc. they are great for newbs to bait casters, I do feel the metanium & Antares are for more advanced bait caster users.

Well of course you hear the 2015 more, you have it for a long time, and the gear set went buzzy like every micro module gear set within 1-2 years of use. The same will happen to the 2024 version, especially if you use it with high resistance baits, or use it in heavy cover. So it is not true that the 2024 is all of a sudden much more silent and smooth. You compare the two in new condition, and they're equal in smoothness and how much noise they make on a retrieve. The reality of the situation is, the 2024 version has three big advantages. 1- the frame palms much much better. 2- external adjustment on line modes is huge for me personally. 3- its a decent amount lighter. That's it. Its not smoother, it doesn't cast further, and things such as the looks, is more subjective than anything else. Is it worth buying to replace your 2015 version? Yes, but only if you're able to sell your 2015 version at a decent price AND you buy the JDM 2024 version to save a massive $200. I just grabbed my second 2024 from an auction in Japan, and it cost me $264.
