Nice review Kenny! That is a great smaller SUV with a lot of space especially in the back seat. For me German cars just have a different and better feel driving them. I hope that you are doing great!

I really like this vehicle especially the instrument panel & infotainment screen. It is easy to use and looks classic. I give this a 10+...the car and the review

My response is: Tiguan is definitely better, for the simple reason that the Honda CRV uses CVT which is a combination of "pulleys & belt" whose longevity is doubtful, and will cost a bundle to repair, not to mention the wait time for the parts. Also, when you step on the gas pedal, asking the engine to give you more power, you can hear the sound of the engine labouring, begging you for mercy! The only advantage of the CVT is that the cost is lower, i.e. more profit for the car manufacturer, NOT the car buyer - you, yes YOU!

I feel the same way about my 2021 Tiguan with regards to the acceleration and power. Its not as weak as you'll read on the commercial websites. I always tell people its got it where it counts.

Well according to Car and Driver magazine’s latest printed issue (May/June 2024) which we got in the mail yesterday April 20th, yes, it is better than the CRV, in their comparative with several cars of this segment the CRV came in 3rd, The Tiguan is 2 and the Mazda CX50 came in one

👍🏻👍🏻 Everything I wanted to know about the VW Tiguan and then some. I wish that start up sequence was as smooth as the review. Sounds like the U-Bahn is pulling into the station. I prefer a softer greeting. More this is going to be fun rather than danger is approaching.

I appreciate you covering what I want to know. I find it concerning how cars are coming in so tech heavy without any regard to their contribution to already dangerous levels of distracted driving. How are you supposed to go through all those screens and steps to adjust your driving speed while you're already behind the vehicle you're telling your car to avoid? Like what?

Great video thank you. I would have loved if you reviewed the quality of phone calls on this Tiguan. I drive a 2011 Tiguan and there's usually a lot of noise at the other end (the person at the other end of the phone can hear the freeway noise). This was a very helpful review. You covered more than any salesperson did at any VW dealership I have visited. Thank you

Hi Kenny, Nice and thorough review. I just purchased a 2024 SE and it is an impressive vehicle. I agree with all of your positive comments. I just want to add, however, that the 0 to 60 time in Sport mode will be closer to 8 seconds so a little quicker than your test drive. Thanks again and I am looking forward to your review of the 2025 model.

In Europe new model is available now. Shame that you can't buy it with 2.0 T gas engine. Only gas engine available in new model is 1.5 4cyl turbo. Great review as always. Greetings

I have a 2022 SE w/4 Motion. Love the car but wish it had the VR6 as the four is quite noisy in lower gears.

I bought the VW Tiguan SE Black Out package with sunroof. So far, I'm impressed. I'm still discovering some features it has you didn't mention such as (1)--It has a "manual shift" option for gear 1st thru 6th gear which I will never use but it's there. (2) I was under the impression from the salesperson that I could change the "Ambient Lighting" for the screen display and such BUT my model will NOT do that. Overall, So far, it's really fun to drive, handles well, good exterior and interior, accessories are acceptable and overall very acceptable for the price.

I use Tiptronic shift to downshift when exiting freeway rather than sitting on brakes. Been doing this since 2022 on 6 different Passats, Golf and now Tiguan never an issue. I also recommend driving in “S” mode as it’s much sportier with llittle impact on MPG.

AGTI wagon like the track is an suv Camaro. Sadly this is missing the acceleration of the hot hatch. A cool “ daddy” family car. S good alternative to sorento one of my favorites.

I think you were counting a little too fast during that 0 - 60 test - maybe it's closer to 8 seconds.

Great review. My only comment, and I don’t know why no one is mentioning it, Volkswagen has the most UNCOMFORTABLE seats I’ve ever experienced in my life. I didn’t notice on the test drive because the dealer was next to me when I drove it off the lot!! behind my knee pain from the HARD seat edge, my butt, my back, the most uncomfortable seat I’ve EVER experienced in my life and now I own this crap! I’ve learned Germans obviously don’t like comfort, to say the seat is firm is an understatement it lacks padding desperately. You open the back door and the first thing that catches your eye is how FLAT the rear seat bench is. It looks like vinyl over cardboard. Extremely uncomfortable for my 30 minute drive home, I dread my 8 hour drive to visit family. (I found Subaru explorers, equinox Kia, and Volkswagen, so I was used to a comfortable seat before this experience. I cannot believe a car manufacturer would make such a hard seat.) And no power lift gate, which should be standard on all models since 2021. -I own a 2024)

I have 2023 Tig rline black and I love it but feels it needs a lil more pep for a VW..I've tested the 0 to 60 time and it's around 8.1, but handles like a dream and it's very torque so it feels faster. Man your missing the full panaramic sunroof and the nicer cockpit speedometer. I'm waiting for the 2025 to come out with the bigger engine and huge infotainment system... It's now out in Europe for 2024

APR and Unitronic offer software tunes for the 2023. That would remedy the power deficit. The APR 87 plus tunealso offers a powertrain warranty.

Drop it into S or the sport mode and I’m sure you can reduce that 9 sec time

Sport mode is the "gas guzzle" mode. Enjoy the 20 mpg.

It would be on the shifter console, I didn't see one. Those hvac controls are crap! You have to look down while driving and get your finger directly in the right spot, VERY dangerous! Stupid stupid design.
