Android Automotive is WAY better than phone mirroring with Android Auto. I can possibly see Apple users feeling a way but the intergrated Google OS is superior to both in every way.

How so?
@455LT1Сағат бұрын
@703Speed number one, it can be customized for oddly shaped displays where Android Auto is typically restricted to a 16x9 window within what display format is ported too (Apple has more flexibility here). #2, Android Auto cannot port it's display to driver instrument clusters so if you have a moving feature in your car's gauge cluster, and you use android auto, this functionality is not supported. #3 zero chance of handshake/connectivity issues. I've had numerous cars/phones that required restarts when the configuration wasn't right and AA wouldn't function properly. #4 for EVs, Google Automotive is much superior for EV specific route planning as compared to AA.

Excellent and thorough review! I'm going to be buying one this Saturday but I'm on the fence between the Countryman and the 4 door S. I suppose we'll see Saturday after I drive both and compare experiences. Pretty sure the Countryman is the way I'm going just for the extras to include the room. Thank you for sharing! MUCH appreciated!

It's the best looking EV I've seen, amazing range, a little pricey for me. I've never understood pano roofs, even with AC on it is so uncomfortable. Good review, Merry Christmas and a healthy new year.

Great review Kenny! That is an amazing SUV with an equally amazing price! The driving range is phenomenal for sure. Huge mistake by Cadillac not offering either wired or wireless play. Cadillac should absolutely provide a shade or a way to make the roof opaque like some other luxe SUVs. Congratz on 49k and hoping that you are doing great always!
@703Speed2 сағат бұрын
Yes, being able to make the roof opaque would be a great idea! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

no mention of the twin turbos? Also, mine has the black package but from what i can tell, it only go the handles and rear sticker. no wheels and side rails, like wtf.

According to the order guide, this should have a sunshade. Why that particular model doesn’t have that sunshade is puzzling. I am guessing it’s a late arrival. It should be standard. As for arrival mode being a gimmick, let’s consider other Cadillac tech that was called gimmicks: Cadillac brought cylinder de-activation to the market in the early 80s with the Sevilla. The engine had reliability problems, but as opposed to popular belief it was NOT the cylinder de-activation that was the problem. But from the beginning it was decried as a gimmick. In the late 80s Cadillac brought power-assisted decklid to the market, again, in the Seville. It was decried as a gimmick, but it was the forerunner of current power assisted decklids. Now people don’t want a luxury car without similar tech. Night vision was first brought to the automobile market by Cadillac in the early 2000s in the Deville. It was dismissed as a gimmick. Now people don’t want a luxury car without it. Just a few years ago, Cadillac brought the rear camera mirror to the market in the XT4, and the car magazines dismissed it as a gimmick. So, you dismiss arrival mode as a gimmick, but once someone in Hollywood pulls off a great arrival at the Oscars or some such, everyone will want it.

Cadillac does a good job of making an aerodynamic vehicle without it looking like the design was a slave to aerodynamics.

That's not a totally fair test. Supposed to hold the break and floor gas just before takeoff. Since he's driving automatic, use the break as clutch. Left foot break and right foot gas, just like the ancestors intended it.

I was gonna buy an X3 but not a big fan of the 2025 redesign. Thinking this X1 is a better option. What do you think?
@703SpeedКүн бұрын
I guess it depends if you want something brand new or not. If you want an X3 - try to find a low mile used 24' or a brand new 24'. The X1 is definitely a nice car, but I would rather have a 24' X3

We have a 2024 CX-5 turbo premium edition in the same color. We only use premium fuel, we bought the turbo because we want the performance. I would think if you're buying a turbo you're not that concerned about MPG's. Premium fuel (93 octane) is about .45 more per gallon where we are located compared to regular. While you can run regular in it, Mazda recommends using premium fuel. You will notice the difference and the engine will last longer.

I've got a 2021 GMC 1500 X.31 with V8 5.3L & 4x4/AWD 8 speed transmission. Luckily it was made during Covid and its shortage of Computer chips years. Thus, it has: NO engine Auto Start/Stop, NO AFM/DFM (which creates stuck lifters - 0uch!), NO down Hill Engine Braking (which is hard on transmissions) and NO On-Star system. Yes. All the "advanced" computer stuff that causes known problems. Instead of "more" electronics, one needs to go back to the base build - that creates less future problems. Especially its factory AFM/DFM system - that creates lifter and cam shaft problems. Research factory build problems before buying! Glad I did!

I'm so glad it doesn't have a turbo. I will consider it because it doesn't have a turbo and it is NOT a CVT. If only I could get Kia to have a manual transmission option.
