2024 WIP PARADE! Part 1

I'm watching part 1 of the WIP parade, enjoying seeing you for the first time! I was very touched by what you said about loving to talk about cross-stitch, but your husband and kids aren't interested. Really struck a chord with me! I'm twice your age but have stitched just about all my life. My mom and aunt were my stitching buddies, but since they have passed away, I'm on my own with no one to share my enthusiasm. It's a tough thing, and I am sorry to hear that's how you feel also. Happily, you have social media to keep in touch with other stitchers...I guess technology has helped us, though us oldsters complain about it! Keep on stitching, sweetie, and may the frog forget where you live.

Welcome! I'm glad you found me! I'm so sorry you're alone in stitching now. (Although, there are still a lot of us out there!). But yes, no one in my daily life. But, I'm glad you got to share in the joy with your mom and aunt for years!! Merry Christmas and happy stitching!!

We do like a lot of the same things! I was watching going, “I have that one in my stash!”, “I have purchased patterns from that designer before!” Ha, ha! Small world. So many great projects! Loving your WIP parade so far. I too used to hate stitching white, then a friend introduced me to DMC Floche. Give that a try. You only need one strand of it as it's thicker, and you can't tell a difference between it and two strands of white floss, except every stitch lays so much better.

Just found your channel, love all your projects ❤. Regarding the Chuck Pinson project, I would restart it so you have the joy of stitching it instead of forcing yourself to pick it up. I restarted a Dominic Davison piece at 37% done. I started it with 2 over 1 tent, but found it too bulky, so I restarted it with 1 over 1 full x - and Max Color as well 😂.

what a sensational WIP parade. I love all of your projects. Admittedly I did stop a few times and search online to pop on my wishlist. Looking forward to keeping up with your videos. Keep up the projects with the four threads. Maybe the one with the church do that in the four and the rest in two - it should pop a little but make the rest easier.

I write my comment as I watch and lost it all! Ugh! Anyways...I will try to remember what I was saying...lol...your videos are great, just the way they are! Lucy is adorable! 🐶 The sea turtle, Shirley is beautiful! It's going to be 32 1/2 x 32 1/2. Maybe you can make it a wall hanging with some pretty ocean fabrics. I know you will figure it out!! 💙🩵💚 I use 1 strand on 18ct for full x's. Oh...the one stitch with the red barn...maybe finish the barn and make it a pillow? Then stitch the pattern on what you love because it is very pretty!! 💗🤍 SO many cute wips!!! I am going to try not to buy in 2025, too!!! 🤞🤓

Oh no, I hate when that happens! Shirley is so pretty ...but I definitely ignored the size I guess in my brain when I started it because it's huge! 😂 Good thoughts about the barn. I will have to do some more thinking on it. It seems like if you use 1 strand for a full cross on 18 count the. I should be able to use two strands half cross ...... I definitely don't like the 4. I've learned that! Lol

You need to finish the backstitching on that hello autumn house. That one is so cute❤ For the 18 count with four strands I wouldn't restart but just switch back to 2x1 full cross, slower but more enjoyable.

This was an interesting video. You haven't been stitching long, so you remind me of me when I started: I wanted to stitch everything, and even worse, I thought I could. Time taught me that I had to be a little more selective if I wanted to finish anything. You already know what you don't like (white, greys, brown, confetti, backstitching, etc), so you have a leg up. Personally, I thought there were way too many ads on your video, and I don't mean your project bags, those weren't too bad. Anyway, keep stitching I know you'll find your perfect combination of project and stitching.

Just now discovered your channel and enjoyed your video. Pertaining to the projects where are you are using four strands and don’t enjoy stitching with four strands, I would not restart. Since you cannot tell where you started and stopped with the full cross and the half stitch, I would suggest that just go back to using the full cross with two strands. At least you will enjoy working on it and it will probably finish just as soon if not sooner than restarting.

I am shocked that you don't like stitching white after seeing all your projects full of white 😅 I also love the wintery scenery but can't bring myself to stitch it so I'm so glad you are so I can just watch ❤

On the first project that you are stitching with four strands: I think if you don’t want to stitch on the project with the four strands, (yikes!) .just restart it when you finish another full coverage project. Then you will love to pick it up.

That's a good idea. I definitely wish I hadn't done a few with 4 strands!

For the one that you were doing with 4 strands half stitch, maybe go back to the full cross instead for this one, that way you can finish it and have learned a lesson.. lol. I have the circular round autumn scene as well.. I'm determined to do it in tent stitch because I'm working on a winter scene by the same artist and am doing it in full cross 1x1 on 25 ct and it's really slowing me down.
