Love this bike! I just got a 2014 edition for $3500. I'm waiting until I get used to it before I start customising it.

I love this bike it was perfect for what I wanted, single large bore and very classy. I tried to buy one but told it was off the books and no longer been sold in Britain. Not at 60 I looking got a 400 0r 650 single or twin to go out on good week trips or just to go on fun rides.

Yamaha makes quality products, which out a doubt. 8400.00 buys a lot of motorcycle. I'm curious to see how well this model performs this new year!

I was wondering about that too, but I bought it anyway. It's actually quite easy to kick-start, so please don't let that put you off. Helluva fun bike!

Every year or two or three Yamaha should have a contest for what past design the public wants to see re-issued as an anniversary edition promising to really go through with it. They could enter each respondent in a drawing or writing or live presentation contest to make a compelling case for choosing the winner, and giving away serial number one as grand prize. It would be interesting to see the models that would emerge. Should produce some sales motivated by somewhat different appeal than what their marketing types usually focus on. As the public ages, nostalgia has become a prime marketing consideration, and I think this will continue and grow. Lots of potential but latent market share that is there for the taking.
