This is just a click bait video. Sure, Yamaha will do some changes to justify raising the price. It's all BS. Here in Florida, I visited maybe 10 different yamaha dealerships this past 2 years, and guess what, you still can't find any T7's. and, If you find one be prepared to pay through the nose for it, about $15K Out the Door. for a bike that doesn't even have cruise control. Sure the 15 year old designed Super Tenere's are available, but why would anyone buy one of those Over Weight Dinosaurs at that $16,300 price, that's almost $20K Out the Door. They're all way Over Priced.

St 12 is an awesome machine man... Mine has 5 years and 150.000kms an runs like new.... No marketing bs bike. Just try it and feel it... I asure you its the best maxi trail. Never a single problem and just flys in any terrain..

100% agree with the main comment - "overweight dinosaur" describes the ST exactly. I owned one for 6 months before trading it in for a much lighter, vastly more agile, and wayy peppier FJ-09 (now called the Tracer 9). I still have the FJ and I'm still mightily impressed with it "The barge goes straight" - I'll never forget that other accurate comment about the ST from years ago. A KTM salesman once said to me "The Super Tenere rides like a *car!* At the time I wrongly assumed he was just trying to sell me a KTM instead. The key thing to understand when you test ride an ST is that it has just enough power and just enough agility when it's carrying no passenger and no cargo. But that's actually *NOT* just enough, because as soon as you put a lot of cargo or a passenger on-board, that power and agility disappears altogether. Also, a 6 gallon fuel tank doesn't cut it - it needs an 8 gallon tank like the BMW GSA or the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer. The Super Tenere is really just a long-distance tourer, not a capable adventure bike. I also agree that Yamaha's other ADV bike - the Tenere 700 - either needs a lower price tag or a bigger engine. We need to have the T7 World Raid over here in the US, too. I do admire the T7's degree of dirt bike DNA. In that way it upstages the ST and even gives it's KTM counterparts some performance rivalry. I'm in Florida like the main commenter, and as soon as you hit any sugar sand here the Super Tenere becomes a brick shithouse. You're lucky to wrestle it out of your sand pit. My advice is to give the ST a big miss - unless you have a thing for overweight dinosaurs.

I love my Super Tenere, but bottom line is that the engine is not Euro5 compliant and is not worth reworking because it’s used in that application only. The S10 disappeared from the European market in 2020 and it’s just been a matter of time for the US. I imagine they’ll come up with a 900 or maybe another 1200 down the line, but the Super Tenere is over. It was well ahead of its time in the 2014 revision, but Yamaha let it die on the vine while every competitor ran moves forward.
