We are changing the track width from 184 mm in Ogrodzieniec to 1,435 mm in Zawiercie, and finally change to 785 mm track in the transfer center being built in Miasteczko Śląskie. The two-level junction promises to be quite interesting - it will combine intercity transport, individual drivers and both standard and narrow gauge railways in one place!
The works are being carried out very solidly, after the reconstruction of the standard gauge viaduct over DK908 and the creation of the Miasteczko Śląskie Centrum stop, it is time for the Miasteczko Śląskie Wąskotorowe station. The entire track system, including turnouts, is being replaced with a brand new one! At the same time, the problem of the need to use the kindness of the fuel depot to be able to carry out maneuvers at the station will end - the depot has simply been liquidated. A solid, high platform is also being built, which will facilitate the exchange of passengers.
The only problem I noticed was very poor turnout on the access line to the international airport, even at the very beginning of the holiday season! Sunday, the turn of June and July, high noon, and here in Pyrzowice only one person got off from our segment, but the parking lots on both sides of the track accommodate hundreds of cars on almost every piece of the field. Two people got off with us in the town...

Widzę iż zawitaliście w nasze strony. 🙂 Są na razie pewne niedogodności ( spychanie z Tarnowskich Gór do samego Miasteczka Śląskiego) ale potem stacja będzie trójtorowa i umożliwi łatwiejszy oblot pociągu oraz manewrowanie dwoma składami. 🤓👍

Wąskotorówka musi teraz jechać trakcją pchaną od Tarnowskich Gór czy jest gdzieś bliżej dorobiony oblot?

Spychają od samych Tarnowskich Gór! Ot taki push-pull ;-)
