I'm all for innovation but electrification through hybridisation seems so forced on performance vehicles which make up so little of the actual car market... I'm happy at least some companies are recognising this & developing bonkers cars!

The flat bottom steering wheel is there, just don't get the driver assistance pack... Not sure if you can opt out for it on a Vorsprung edition, but the carbon black is with the flat bottom steering wheel 😅

The engine in the RS 3 is already running almost 22 psi of boost. How much more pressure can they push on pump gas?

That's a good question. Do you think maybe they'd do larger turbos or something? Maybe tweak some other things in the engine besides psi to get more power? Just curious. Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you for dropping in and commenting!

@@MtnRoads I suppose higher pressure can be run, but it will mean more demand is placed on the cooling system. That’s one of the reasons you see the grills in sports cars getting bigger and bigger with each generation. Will likely need a more effective intercooler. How they would get more boost, I’m not sure. Using a larger turbo would almost certainly cause more turbo-lag, which is very undesirable. A known solution is to use a VTG turbo, but it’s not likely because they are super expensive when used in gasoline engine applications (like in the 911 Turbo and Turbo S). More likely, I think a twin turbo setup with smaller units would be used.

There's no way Audi are going to abandon ICE. They will lose so many customers, me included. Many people I know are planning on buying one last ICE car and keeping it indefinitely rather than changing every few years, or go to another manufacturer. EV will kill Audi if they go down this road, look what happened when they tried to go Diesel with the R8 and the new S models in diesel, massive drop in sales.

Appreciate your thoughts. If this isn't astronomically priced the new RS3 could be my last ICE. I think Audi is being affected by the European emissions standards which in turn affects us. I wish they'd do what Aston Martin just did and say they will stick with the ICE for a while, but time will tell. Thank you for dropping in and commenting!

These companies claiming to be going "Full EV" are going to be in for a world of hurt. The market is already saturated with these overpriced golf carts, by 2030 it's going to be a bloodbath for these manufacturers.

I've been following this "Full EV" thing too, because I'm a data nerd in my regular 9to5, In the just the few months since I've posted this episode I think attitudes are starting to change with some of those companies. Most if not all European and American car companies cant make "affordable" EVs. That and the surge of much cheaper Chinese EVs that's about to hit the global market if they haven't already, seems to be changing some minds. I think in the mid to short terms you're going to see some of those companies start to pull away from "Full EV", and their focus will change to hybrids. I think Ford has already stated as much, at least for their European plans. I wont be surprised if more follow suit. Time will tell. Appreciate your thoughts. I've had to think about this and I think if you have one being built now and your happy with it, keep it. I dont know how you feel about tuning but with the price increase Im sure there will be for 2025, if HP is what your after, and your able, you could invest the difference in a good ECU/TCU tune to probably match whatever the 2025 will have. I think you're getting a great car no matter what. Worst case, grab the 2024 RS3, take it easy on it, hopefully you can see the 2025 soon, then if you want, flip the 2024. I bet you could get good $$$ for it. (Just my rambling 2 cents) And, Congrats on the new RS3!! Appreciate you dropping in and commenting!

I'm in a similar boat. I'm expecting one in April, and will likely try to push it out based on what I am seeing. The front is my biggest issue, and it looks like the update is addressing that. Fingers crossed for some additional paint options as well.

I kid you not when I say I love the fake vent looks and the rear end in general lol! Looks absolutely stunning in person from every angle and I honestly wouldn't change a thing! It was 10 times better than I expected and we won't even mention the sound lol!!
