I should have got the 22-inch RIMs, but I was so worried about ride quality. I didn't want to pay the maintenance for the staggered fitment either

X5 owner are doing two things to overcome the firmer ride from the 22s: focus on quality tires like the Continental PremiumContact or Michelin PS4S as well as going up a size in side wall to add cushion. The second option is apparently quite effective. I'm taking delivery of mine in the next week. I'm anxious to see how it feels.

The interior lacks the opulence and aesthetics of previous X5s. That long curved touchscreen display with its 90 degree corners is off putting. I don't much care for the X5 letters in the middle of the dashboard. It strikes me as cheap and gimmicky. Finally, I don't like those plastic meshes with the little triangles right above the vents, just ick. The last great beautiful interior was the F15.

Growing old gracefully as ever, but boring dark blue on top of boring black is just so awful. They definitely need to get some decent colours back in their range, ala Range Rover and Lexus, and bring back the bright wheels and window surrounds to boot, e.g., MB's $3,000 bright alloys for the GLE. Put some lipstick on the old girl, and she'll be good to go for another 15 years.
