I got the Magic in Melanin in arc and I am so excited to read it! Also I agree with you about Akwaeke. I was going to try to read their whole back list, but after reading "The Death of Vivek Oji" I have now decided to stick to their YA only.

Oh no I haven’t gotten to that one. It was the “romance” book for me by that author that I was just like I probably wouldn’t read their adult books again.

@@rouxellereads... Aur naur! Was it "You've Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty"? 😭😭

Wait. It wasn't good? 👀
@rouxellereads2 күн бұрын
@@reginaldfairfield yeah it was that book. People are pretty mixed on it so you might like it. I can’t deny the author’s writing is good, but it’s a messy situation. For me, it was hard to want to follow those characters falling in love in those circumstances.

Hey D! Long time no see! I'm happy to see this video. I have added Harlem Rhapsody and Dream count by the one and only Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Does anyone else thing Liselle Sambury's new one sounds like an older version of "Amari and the Night Brothers"?
@rouxellereads2 күн бұрын
@@reginaldfairfield hmmm I didn’t think of that but maybe 🤔 I’m curious to see if it’ll read similar outside of the general magic school things.
