rented this car for a 3 hr drive to daytona and back. Was smooth at 90 mph+ great on gas. Comfortable and handled well in rain. Short-term, it was amazing. Long-term, no idea.

Buick's are always well appointed just above Chevy's baseline models, although it might seem as a nice purchase, I'm not too certain on the powertrain, as it's a 3 cylinder turbocharged engine. It's a first for GM in a while. So you might as well be testing it under lease. I'm thinking with the added weight of the CUV, and the added weight of a fully loaded car, would definitely put a massive strain on pull. Wouldn't recommend it to add any tow hitches of the sort. I'm also a 1st generation Buick Encore owner (used, 2014, started at 68k and now at 160,000 miles mostly highway), and you would see typical problems about 80k miles in based on reviews, although I've gotten it to about 140k miles before seeing some major issues despite me being fairly liberal on oil/ filter changes. Based on the specs and how it compares to the current gen here, I'm going to guess its a bit sluggish as it has more weight. This wouldn't matter much for slow city driving, but if you need to go fast to catch up on a highway or to avoid an accident, you better plan a couple seconds ahead. I do want to note that the 2025 model is a completely different power train, as the 2014 is shared with Chevy's Cruze and Trax powertrains at the time while what you see here is shared with a Trailblazer, so whatever I've experienced here could be different for you.

Bring back any of the ecotec 2.0's from the LNF to LTG models and maybe this would be a better sell but with the current motor option it's a permanent no.... I've driven these motors in several models and even with a few hiccups. I know with regular maintenance they will hold up to 120k-180k or longer.

@@mogfire Wonder if it can fit, a 1.4L was in the encore lineup but the engine bay makes it particularly cramped to work in.

I have a GX with the 1.3L engine, and I have driven the Encore with the 1.4L turbo (the 138hp version). I can tell you right now, the 1.3L in the GX feels a lot better than the 1.4L from the Encore. Both available 3 cylinders in the GX have more torque than the 1.4L in the 2014 Encore.

Local dealer has one marked down 6k through GM incentives. For how cheap you can get these cars I would say it’s a good buy. Better to jump on the deals now before they go away. I remember the envision used to be heavily discounted and now they don’t discount them as much anymore because of the higher sales

Can garage door control be added to this vehicle?

I wish these companies would start making bigger motors

They can’t due to emissions laws now. Name of the game is smaller engines now
